Pricing Questions? Wii vs PCtht1guyb05/12/2008 - 10:46

Soooo.... we've already pre-ordered the game at $20 (with "extra juice") and with the most expensive WiiWare game costing $15, is the Wii goo gonna be a little dumbed down or is pc people getting shafted?

I'm going to buy it on Wiiware. I don't really care about the price since I'm a huge supporter of indie developers. I don't think the game will cost more than $15 on Wiiware. I'm guessing it'll be $10.

We don't know how much it will cost on WiiWare yet. The months-early sneak preview, I'd hope, would make up for any discrepancy though.

Nintendo tend to overcharge for their own ancient roms with wii points.  I'd be very surprised if it was under $30 USD.

You're funny. Buying VC games is cheaper than buying the old cartridges in stores/online. Especially the good games.

Yup and a lot more convenient to boot.

I think it was one of the gaming sites like 1up that tracked down a bunch of games and basically it ended up being that buying VC games was like 40% cheaper than buying the actual games.  And that was before factoring in things like gas, or the hassle in tracking them down, etc...

i don't think he means it's not cheaper then buying the physical game, but that it's $5 for SMB.  $10for SMBWorld.  They should be ~33% cheaper (~$3 & $6).  They're ancient games, the $$ has been made, don't be greedy.

I 100% agree.

Asking less for VC games means less profit.. Which will mean less 3rd party support. I'd rather pay €2 more (for amazing NES games) and get a chance to buy sega, konami, square-enix games.

€5/$5 isn't much for a good game. Even if it's 15 years old. And if you already have to game on cartridge: Don't buy them then :D. When i sold my NES (stupid me) and my N64 (I'm really stupid) i got more money for the games i sold then they costs when I rebuy them as VC. So I made a profit... Well.. kind off. :D
