Windows 1.30 vs Linux 1.40?themacmeister02/16/2009 - 00:18

Any difference in the versions, or just a version number mismatch?

???

Yeah, I wonder about the same...

Firstly, they don't have the same version of the translations. :)
And there may be other things (maybe some Linux specific features are in reality 1.40 new features) ...

They just bumped the version number to 1.40 after they released 1.30. Then I started working on the Linux version, which was then released as version 1.40, but at that point there had been very few changes that affected other platforms than Linux, which is why Ron decided against building a new Windows version just yet. So Windows users aren't missing out on much.

Sorry to disappoint you, but that's not really the case. ;)

Some cool features in 1.40:

- It runs on x86 Linux.
- It runs on 64 bit Linux using 32 libs.
- 40% more initiate in all directions.
- Clouds don't work (only worked once).
- Better Rendering of the images compared to the windows binary using wine.
- you don't have that strage static stuff on the edge of the screen like on wine.
- Alt + enter works.
- Screen display by default in linux is 600x800, you need to change it manually in the configuration textfile as root, (this makes it more enjoyable).
- It comes without a windows installer.
- It comes in 3 formats, (portable version, Debian package, rpm package).
- submitting sores works.
- the game has gooballs in it.

Don't forget, you can play with more than one mouse. I still have to test it though, but the functionality should be there.

more that one Mouse?, it will require some Xconf editing,
with libcwiimote you can use the wii remote to play this on your computer. (but i guess windows has some kind of wii remote thing aswell).
