Unusual ways to beat levelsMarius08/15/2008 - 16:10

In this thread we post pictures of unusual ways in which you've completed levels.

Small divide, with a dangling bit dangling from the tower, and without touching the right side.

This was actually one of my attempts to get Chain with 26 balls leftover, but the suction from the pipe just isn't enough to keep the chain up without support. Kudos if you can manage it though.

I've also done Fisty's bog by detaching a bit from the main arm, then carefully flying it toward the pipe (This also got me my first place on fisty's bog) but I don't have a picture/video of that.

Now THERE's a challenge I can't resist! There goes my plans for sleeping for the next few days at least...!

It is, but surely you must know the goo dies when it touches the top/bottom? Sometimes you have to sacrifice some goos for the greater goo-d.

Re: Unusual ways to beat levelsMacatttack08/16/2008 - 11:05

wow!!! that would be really hard to do though.  :D

Re: Unusual ways to beat levelsMacatttack08/16/2008 - 12:51

It won't be able to be done in the next beta I think but here's one. :)

hers a cool way to collect the goo in the chain level.  I detached a triangle and built off it through the wall.

then I built up to get the goo to the chain.

For that matter:

The more nodes I get inside the earth, the more violently my screen and the structure starts shaking :P

[quote author=Macatttack link=topic=161.msg1288#msg1288 date=1218902714]wow!!! that would be really hard to do though.  :DYup. I've tried to reproduce it to take a video and also to improve my score, but haven't been able yet.

Click them. It undoes your last move.

Re: Unusual ways to beat levelsBallisticsfood08/17/2008 - 16:16

I fall back on my usual... fallback.

Completed fistys bog with no balloons.

I like that way to complete Chain. Very nice.

How did you get the dangly bit to have only one connection point? I didn't think there was anything that cuts structures in Small Divide, other than the pit.

Re: Unusual ways to beat levelsMarius08/17/2008 - 21:21

The left side of the map does, and probably the right side as well, although I haven't tested that.

Re: Unusual ways to beat levelsBallisticsfood08/20/2008 - 07:56

Make an underbridge on small divide. That is to say, a bridge which goes down and across rather than up and across. It's pretty easy to do, but not the usual method, I think.

For that matter, I present:
Living on the edge!
(Harder than it looks)

(Some goos were harmed during the creation of this picture)

its wasnt too difficult for me, i think the first post on this thread, about going up and having a dangling peice dangling to reach the pipe, was 1 billion times tougher

Re: Unusual ways to beat levelsBallisticsfood08/25/2008 - 14:20

Yeah, but the thread is titled unusual ways to beat levels, not hard ways to beat levels. For hard ways to beat levels see if you can find the challenges thread, it's old now, but should still be around somewhere...

Re: Unusual ways to beat levelsMacatttack08/25/2008 - 14:33

I saw that thread it looked fun I tried some of them.  :)
