Well, the question is how good it'll be. Would everything be like what the 2D Boys made, or will it be incoherent like installing a whole bunch of mods and calling it a game?

We don't technically need authorization as it is already granted. 2Dboy gave official permission to everyone on the planet to create goomods for world of goo. This is technically just a giant-sized goomod file.

In the website there is a mail contact form. I think that at least to say you're gonna do something is easy. Just avoid the optionals fields and write without caring you wrote using only capital letters.

Sure you can create a "giant mod pack" but I DO really doubt you can use the title "World of Goo 2".
I think it's copyrighted, so you'll have to chose another name.

Everyone including David Croft has had no problem with this. Many fans keep joining. We're building levels, chapters, and cutscenes. It won't matter if it IS a trademark because it will be free!

Trademarks and pattens are for selling and marketing, not freeware.

Enchanter49, are you getting defensive? It seems that you know something is not quite right but you still pretend everything to be. Don't worry, I never tried to put you on the spot.

Just to let you know, though, World of Goo itself is not freeware, and if the name was a registered trademark, it would be infringement. Also, technically you're not supposed to make derivative works off of WoG, though no one really cares whether or not you do so. (Even Ron had uploaded some stuff to GooFans, so that must mean he's not against mods...)

I've never heard of seanl...he is not on the official team for World of Goo 2.

Doesn't Far Lands have a standalone package? Or is it just to overwrite the existing game files?
Actually, an installer could be beneficial as it's possible to take installed engine files and copy them over to a new folder, making a separate installation of WoG but for WoG2.

Count how many levels there are in world of goo and divide that number by 3. After you have done that, multiply it by it's square root and divide that again by 7 to the tenth power. Then, divide that number by God.

That seems to be it Pavke. Though I think the cumulative progress would be more.

Mh, and by "God" you mean... 42?
