[=3pt]Yes yes, EA is a distributor and not a producer.  But they do have a huge effect on the games they invest in..[/]

[li]The game would have 3 minutes of advertisements and logos on startup you can not skip[/li]
[li]The game would require a $700 computer to run on medium[/li]
[li]When a goo ball dies, it is resurrected[/li]
[li]The game would come with 2 levels; expansion packs would  add new levels[/li]
[li]There would be only 3 puzzles in teh game; all other puzzles simply decrease the balls you have, and add a timer[/li]
[li]The game would have a "Collectors Edition" for $120[/li]
[li]DRM on the game would require you to send in a video of yourself holding the box copy.  Must be played online.[/li]

You'd have to activate the game three times and call tech support before being allowed to play without trouble.
The game would employ needless 3D graphics.
The art style would be more cartoonish and less dark.
The music would be uninspired, but produced by a live orchestra.
The story line would be more involved.
You'd go through five stages of development, each one being a half-assed mini-game where you work to increase your abilities but have no real outcome based on any of the previous... oh, wait. That's just Spore.

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...dazman7610/09/2008 - 05:43

Actually, EA *is* also a producer of some titles (mainly their sports stuff) :) heh

Still, I'm glad EA didn't have the privilege of bringing Goo to the masses. They already have more market share than they deserve, and as SplinterOfChaos says, it's so much more entertaining than Spore turned out to be. I haven't even started to try and beat Goo levels quickly (rushing a tower can be quite a chuckle), or spent any time maximising the extra Gooballs I collect. Lots of fun ahead! :D

Goo Corporation would be portrayed as a nice and benevolent company which is the best thing that ever happened to the goos.

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...SplinterOfChaos10/09/2008 - 06:34

That, and half the missions you do for them are helping a charity organization.
The game would get a teen rating despite almost nothing to deserve it.
There would be a basketball level (actually, that would be cool!), and if you've played every other EA game, you get bonuses.

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...FISKER_Q10/09/2008 - 08:04

Gooballs explode when they die (No not into goo)
Simon inspired gameplay (Press mouse button now to not fail)
FMV's with high-profile yet irrelevant actors.
Extra goo balls in the corporation through micro transactions

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...Ballisticsfood10/09/2008 - 09:05

It wouldn't be out yet.

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...SplinterOfChaos10/09/2008 - 09:11

Goo 2 would already be in the works.
A possible movement for a Goo Movie.
Goo plushy toys would be sold at EB.
There would be a Bradly Games guide for it.

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...Marius10/09/2008 - 09:13

I so totally want to goo ball depicted in one of the blog posts.

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...saraswati10/09/2008 - 15:39

they would send some overpaid executive round to talk about how Goo is the new big thing, spend six months putting in something that makes your CD drive crash and then totally ignore that feedback on the Goo forum while they got one of the Goo to interview them..  ;)

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...Windexglow10/11/2008 - 09:59

heh, some good replies :p

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...Marius10/11/2008 - 10:05

We would get different resolutions :halo:

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...SplinterOfChaos10/11/2008 - 10:36

There would be support for HD and almost demand it.
The development team would have been sent hookers to encourage certain design changes.

...I'm running out!

I wouldn't run out of things to say because all I'd have to do to come up with more would be play the game.
This would actually be a review!

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...Vark10/11/2008 - 12:37

.. it wouldn't be as good?

V

(Summarizing freely)

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...BeSD10/11/2008 - 15:08

Although, a game called The Goos, or GooCity could be fun to play.  ;D

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...SoulMyst.Me10/11/2008 - 15:37

We would have in future;

SimGoo
Medal Of Honor Allies in Goo
The Need For...(you guessed it) Goo
Battlefield Goo 2124

;D

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...spekkeh10/14/2008 - 14:49

If WoG was produced by EA, they'd totally screw us Europeans over. Probably they'd not only convert dollars straight to euros, but even skip the cheap distribution altogether and release it 6 months later at three times the price on a disk, thinking we won't complain because we probably speak some mumbo-jumbo language and don't look past our national borders. Ahaha that would be so lame.

Wait. What?

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...SoulMyst.Me10/14/2008 - 15:01

If you think EA scr**s people living in europe..try living in south africa  :'(

Actually, it's only nuff said for people living in SA... I don't know how hard you're getting screwed.

Je kunt het ook in het Afrikaans zeggen. Dat kan ik dan misschien niet baie goed, maar ik kan het wel aardig lezen :P

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...SplinterOfChaos10/14/2008 - 23:10

The game would have an adaptation for every major platform.

We'd be able to watch the Japan commercial, which would involve people dressing up in costumes and dancing around. (Do they still have game ads like that?)

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...hay-dillah10/15/2008 - 06:56

If WoG was produced by EA?

The goo's would be voiced by John Madden, the title would have NBA licensing, and it would be available on 3DO.

Nuff -nuff- said.  (double nuff)

2D BOY, a new company, looks far superior to a lot of larger more established companies right now.
Lots of customers are always complaining on bigger gaming forums and no one seems to aknowledge the problems or fix them. I understand that they may have more customers in general, but this is no excuse for them time and time again. They repeatedly make stupid decisions that their customers feel strongly about.

I found a lot of the posts funny because they are true, and everyone knows it. I hope to see more companies like 2D BOY think for themselves and determine if treating people badly is really a good way to get money from them  ???

Re: If WoG was produced by EA...Thermal Ions10/15/2008 - 11:21

...it would have ended up leaked onto p2p networks prior to official release, rather than the authors being respected by those who pre-ordered.
