Damned if I can do this. Have tried building up time and again to wake guy at top but just can't get the thing stable. Also tried going up both sides to create an arch around the head but again without success. What is the best approach?

I tried building an arch first as well, but it didn't work very well. Sorry, but I think building a tower on one side is the way to go. Try making the base as wide as you can.

My strategy was also to build a tower on one side.  I didn't focus on making it stay up- I quickl built so I could reach the top and then let it fall and die.

I built an arch.  Give it enough support an you can do it - very satisfying too!

First time I did this I had two fairly hefty towers on each side, which were just about strong enough to build towards each other in the middle.

Second time round I couldn't get this to work at all. I ended up still with two towers, but apart from the base they were thin, and gradually 'leaned' together. It's quite surprising how far a square tower of fire-Goos can bend without falling over.

And then, when you are reaching the point where the towers are close to collapsing, make sure you have a load of Goo on screen, start building like crazy, and hope you can insert the vital 'link' goo at the right moment. The final result was actually quite pleasing, although I'm pretty sure the single tower method would net more Goo.

I also built an arch over the head. I found it far too hard to build a single tower.

I did the arches as well - in fact, they started falling in towards each other, and I just quickly nabbed a goo and stuffed it between, then it stayed stable.

Also, keep in mind you can connect goos to the bomb itself..

Single tower, built as fast as possible upwards. When it fell it smashed over the head, thus giving me a way to save the vast majority of the structure and paving the way for an OCD. I didnt get the OCD by the way, but that's how I was planning on getting it.
