So will WOG be a Virtual Console release for 2000 points (one card?) or will it be a hard disc version?

Either would be great, but it seems to me that the Virtual Console would be a better business decision, because TONS of people would buy it and not be able to share a disc version of it. Hence, more profit.

As a Wii owner, I'm going to have my own copy regardless, but I'm just curious...

i'm not completely sold on the expensive wii-ware titles yet...  my first wi got cooked & I lost all the VC stuff I had.  I lost some of my disc-games too, but not all, so that's one major plus to a disc.  :)

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the tied to console content on the Wii.

Plus I didn't think they were doing original stuff yet?  Just re-releases of older console games.

Frankly I don't mind it, especially if an indie studio is trying to get a little more money out of a project to help them start off. Having a disc would be nicer, sure, but either way would make it interesting on the console.

Well as they said about a publisher being on board on the blogs I'd say it's going to be a disc version. Cant see you needing a publisher for WiiWare stuff.

Re: Wii release?The Happy Friar03/09/2008 - 07:38

no, but then again, Valve said you don't need a publisher to put stuff on steam & every indy game has a publisher on there, so they're loosing part of the $$ to the pub & to valve.  :/

From what nintendo was saying, they are the publisher.

i'll be more clear: odds are i'd buy it for wii if it was on wiiware (if it has coop, or head to head) & if it was on a disc, I'd just PREFER the disc.  :)

Same for me. I'd prefer it on a disc. Never used WiiWare and dont really want to have to set it all up.

MAN you are missing out on some old-school action. My SNES finally broke down after 14 solid years of gaming, and it's nice to be able to play Harvest Moon and A Link to the Past again on a console, not just an emulator.

WiiWare launches on May 12 - I think they will make it a lot more pleasant than the current Virtual Console interface. And I hope they have a downloader that isn't Mario wacking blocks!

Really??  I kinda liked the Mario wacking blocks!  It would be nice to have a more Xbox like interface that allows you to move on and do other stuff but really I find progress bars nearly useless.  I don't think I've ever found one that ever tells you much useful information.  My personal favorites are the software installers that get to 100% and then continue to run the life out of your HDD for 5 more minutes.  That's why so many people have gone to more abstract 'look at me I'm still doing something and I'm not frozen' style indicators like the windows startup screen.

So does that make May 12 the release date?
