hey everyone

when i make my tower i only have 300 balls...

ive completed every lvl but one....

i dont understand how many can get 600-800 balls ??

can someone tell me how to get that many balls ???

Even though you have collected more gooballs, fire regulations say you can't have more than 300 gooballs at once in that area.

The other clouds show the total gooballs people have, but they can also only build with 300 balls. That's why you won't see "using 400 out of 800 gooballs"

IMO, it's stupid to have fire regulations in an infinite space >.>

I want to build the biggest thing but can't due to limitations :(

Actually, a true sandbox mode with infinite balls would be nice too. Like tower of goo, but with fancy graphics.

While I see the value in having a 300 ball limit for the tower building - maximum people competing on equal footing. I would have liked to have seen a sandpit mode where you can use all of your balls.

whoops cant believe i didn't see this thread. ok i understand we can only play with 300 of said goo but how do people manage to get 800+ anyway? is it possible to save that many?  ???

The 800 stats are due to a bug.

Well yeah, any more than 300 goos and your PC would catch on fire!

It also transforms the game into something less like "how many OCDs can you complete?" and more like "how good are you at building towers?" which is how the WoG corp should work.

also, while im making my uber-goo-tower it says using 300 of 300 balls. but in other clouds it shows using ___ of 700,800,900 etc do they see mine as 300? or 926?  ???

They see yours as 926

I really think that we should be able to have more than 300 balls.

I would love to see massive creations being made by players.

The problem is that each ball you add into the tower uses up CPU, due to physics calculations.

But, I figure that you could disable physics on some of the nodes in the building. perhaps center nodes, or something.

I can't possibly fathom how limiting the amount of goo-balls available pertains to balance at all.

It doesn't flow on from the rest of the game, where the sole purpose throughout is to get as MANY goos as possible to the end-pipe...it makes no sense that this shouldn't then translates to more goo balls in the WoG Corporation.

This is the competitive aspect to the game, and part of that competition should also require the player to play through the game again and again to get as many goo balls as possible, improving on their prior attempts. Having an isolated 300-limit tower building competition doesn't give any incentive to really go back and strain out as many goos as humanly possible...the OCD flags don't really add anything to the competitive aspect of the game at all.

There would actually be a reason to obtain those gnarly OCD flags (or even improve on them if possible) if they contributed to your total goo ball count in the World of Goo Corporation!

It wouldn't be fair on the people who might not be bothered to complete all the OCDs to then not be able to compare their building skills to other players; and that people on lower end systems wouldn't be able to play... Although I do admit, having a fairly competent gaming system myself, that 300 seems rather limiting.

My thought:
Each OCD flag gets you a balloon for the tower of goo level.

Would need some tweaking to make sure you can't make a small chunk just take off upward.

An idea for a sandpit mode would be a ball dispenser, so you don't receive all your goopies right at the start, but only the requested number.
And a sign that shows the estimated goopies you can add to your tower without killing your CPU!

I redo levels because I want to beat highscores set by other players.

-I have an old system (bought it in 2004-ish, HP)  with an AGP X700pro (I can play Call Of Duty 4 :D)  So i'm guessing multiple balls falling, wouldn't force one's OLD CPU too much :P

If by "multiple" you mean 1100, then ok. But 300 on screen lags my 2.6ghz cpu nVidia FX5200 128mb, so eh.

Since World of Goo is essentially a casual game, I could imagine people who know next to nothing about computers and just enjoy puzzle solving playing it... On a nVidia 8600M there were a couple of points where the frames dropped, although it might have just been vsync.

My FPS is around 30-50 :P

Yes!! WoG Corp needs no restrictions! Being able to use all my goos is a great incentive to go back and replay levels. Please get rid of the 300 goo cap in WoG Corp!!

I think we need something like this already.  I recently had a collapse of my 30-meter tower, and I was forced to reset.  Now I have so many goo balls (300) crawling over each other on (and near) a small building frame that it's hard to work with.  I do get some slowdown too, though not too bad.  All of this could be solved if unused balls could go into a holding tank of some sort:  No performance issues (just show a number on the tank) and no tower-building issues.

I've seen the highscore of 59259 goo balls at the WoG Corporation recently. I wonder how did (s)he manage it...

lol,,,,,ok poeple your all stupid ,,first of all there is no way that this game can fry your CPU no matter how many goo balls you use to build the tower ,,,the thing is this game dont have the amont of physics to do such a thing to the CPU ....and another thing is that this game dont use your CPU,,,in fact it use your GPU ok and that is on your video card ,,,the only game ever known to man to fry a CPU or a GPU is CRYSIS ,,this game doesnt come close to the physics in CRYSIS ,,,i dont care what everyone else says i know for a fact ,,,how do i know this well cuz im a hard core gamer and thats all i do is game ,,,,lol if you dont beleive me well check it for your self ,,lol and this fire regulation is total nonsence...no such thing can happen

Anyways, to get back on the topic of 300 vs unlimited goo balls, I have one question: Would you really want to (re)build a 1200+ gooball tower? Just imagine that thing toppling over :P

i have over 650 balls and am still limited to 200 but not 300, how come? =/

I think the amount shown on your profile is the total amount of balls that went into the pipe, while the balls you get in Goo Corp is just the amount which you rescued above level minimum.
Is that correct? Can anyone confirm that?

I think you should be able to BUY stuff with flags. For example balloons, multicoloured goo, construction blocks(like on the information superhighway) and other stuff
