Ok, I'll post something. :)

I preordered World of Goo, and loved the first chapter of it.

When I pre-ordered it, it mentioned something about a profanity pack though. Is this coming out when the game is fully done, or is it downloadable now?

Cheers,
Nick

Yeah, the Profanity Pack (tm) will come out shortly after the game is released for the PC/Mac/linux versions (no fucking way we can sneak that onto Wii!). It will be a few dollars, but free for anyone who pre-ordered

Re: Profanity packDodomaster03/05/2008 - 02:06

Ah that's great, really looking forward to it.

Re: Profanity packHellspark03/05/2008 - 07:20

Can we add custom sounds to the game?
I.E. replace some of the things they say with stuff we've made?

Ah great news! Had been wondering where it was :P

I think the proper response would have been -

"You'll get you F#^$@! Profanity Pack when we're F#%&@$well Ready and if you don't like it you can kiss my hairy (I'm improvising now) welted A#&!!!

Your's Truly,
Don't F#&@^$ Bother me again!"

Yes, it suits the subject matter.

;D  There you go, no if you really want to get World of Goo into the headlines you SHOULD sneak the profanity pack onto the Wii version but not tell anyone and let it accidentally be discovered by some 14 year old with a penchant for debugging console games - causing yet another huge controversy and scandal the likes of which haven't been seen since the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas "Hot Coffee" incident!  (Manhunt?  Fuck Manhunt!)  Think of the press coverage you'd receive, especially if you included a small cutscene that was never supposed to make the final cut of a young girl have sex with a goo ball!  Interstatial sex... on a Wii game... ewwwww!  Think of the profit!

God I should market myself!

Sincerely,
Yours Truly,
The Aforementioned,
Guy up above

Or for even better news coverage you could set it in Manchester Cathedral. *Covers head and ducks below tide of holy wrath*

Re: Profanity packPwon Pwon03/05/2008 - 11:38

Hmm... that would be interesting the only problem with that is few people understood why that was controversial except for those that lived in or around the UK.  Most North Americans where like - "wha?!?"  Although I understood the reasoning behind all of the controversy, I mean c'mon, you can't have a battle between good and evil in a church of all places!  Sheesh!    ;)

Re: Profanity packtoompie03/07/2008 - 12:45

you can ship the wii game with the profanity pack.. but! .. *bleep* out all the nasty words  :D

Re: Profanity packJoeTheZombie06/03/2008 - 20:19

I will be getting the Wii version, and I want the profanity pack, damnit!

Why is it we can have Manhunt, No More Heroes, MadWorld, Scarface, Godfather, etc., but for some reason the Wii can't handle the profanity pack on a WiiWare title?  Is this a Nintendo limitation?

Re: Profanity packBMH06/04/2008 - 04:23

It's funny that Nick wants the Profanity Pack so bad. His game has got to be THE game where the players won't stop cursing at. Seriously, it's devilish  :)

What game?

To respond to someone's post a little bit above me, who asked if you could add your own sounds
If the final game is structured the same way it is now, i THINK all you will have to do is change the sound files located in the music folder. That's just a guess though.

A Day in the Life of Little Suzie at Kindergarten:

"What's it mean? Well, after playing Dad's copy of 'World of Goo' last night, I looked it up on Wikipedia and realized... Daddy's a real m****r f****r!"

Hmmmmm....  ;) Moderators, feel free to delete this post! (I suspect Nintendo wouldn't like it! :D)

Bump :)

Re: Profanity packBallisticsfood10/11/2008 - 11:45

OK, what was the bump for? DO you actually have anything to add/ask or was it just random?

Re: Profanity packChetyre10/11/2008 - 22:36

OK, here's a REAL bump:

If we preorder through steam, will we also get the free profanity pack?

EDIT:  I'm stupid, steam doesn't have the preorder available.  d'oh.  I'd like the profanity pack for free but having a steam copy beats that out.

Chetyre: If you take a look at the blog, 2D Boy is working with VALVe to get pre-order copies transferable to your Steam account. If should be functional by the time World of Goo launches on Monday. At that time all you need is your "Magic Key" that you get when you pre-order to activate the game in your Steam account. Hope this helps.

Oh, cool.  Thanks for that info!
