Will the World of Goo soundtrack be available for purchase after the game is released?  I preordered the game and played through the first chapter and the music is absolutely fantastic.  A collection of the individual tracks from each level would be something I would definitely be interested in purchasing!

Re: SoundtrackDil99903/05/2008 - 02:05

I believe all the music is kept in C:\Program Files\WorldOfGoo\res\music.

Re: SoundtrackDodomaster03/05/2008 - 02:08

Maybe a special magic soundtrack cd full of joy? :)

Re: Soundtrackkyle03/05/2008 - 02:26

Putting out a proper soundtrack is a good idea - with full tracks (instead of loops), and possibly "re-recordings" with orchestral instruments and stuff.  I'll do it if there's interest!

Re: SoundtrackJossiRossi03/05/2008 - 02:39

The music is very calm and relaxing it'd be a nice thing to pop in while stressed or just taking it easy. I'd love a soundtrack though, even if anything so I can load it into Audiosurf.

Double Indy Game Action!

Re: SoundtrackHellspark03/05/2008 - 07:19

Who made the music?

Is there an artist that played/composed/remixed all these for you guys?

Homebrew?

I also would be very interested in that. I may even fork out more moneys if it meant I got some proper arrangements.
Even now I put the Ode to the Bridge Builder loop on repeat if looking for inspirational music. And as for Rain Rain Windy Windy, well, what else needs to be said?

Re: SoundtrackDracolich03/05/2008 - 15:29

Mark me down for a copy!

Re: Soundtrackkyle03/06/2008 - 04:23

Thanks guys :) I'm writing the music in my living room with all computer instruments for now. I hope to record over them with real instruments at some point for a bigger more orchestral feel, I hope there's time for that

Re: Soundtrackdasflux03/07/2008 - 03:00

Hey over there.  Don't forget about me :-P

Re: SoundtrackHellspark03/07/2008 - 05:22

The music can be found here :

\WorldOfGoo\res\music      <- wherever you installed the game in the

    first place.

Re: SoundtrackBallisticsfood03/07/2008 - 05:25

That's only the raw .ogg files. They're all loops, and although they're fun to listen to on loop it'd be amazingly awesome if a proper soundtrack was released...

Please release musiks!

VLC/winamp/etc play them :D

Re: SoundtrackDracolich03/07/2008 - 05:39

I think the point of Ballistics message is that while the loops are excellent there is more to be had here.  The music is superb enough to deserve an individual treatment.  Kyle has mentioned full orchestral arrangements and I agree, these inspired selections deserve it.  Even if time permits only a fully synthesized soundtrack I will be on the list.

Seconded. And firsted... which means I actually thirded it.
...
Anyway, I say bring on the full soundtrack, be it recorded, midi, or Kyle humming into the microphone.

EDIT:
This comment made the thread 2 pages long! The first 2 page topic! woo!

Re: Soundtracktwincannon03/07/2008 - 09:51

The music is superb, one of the things that most immediately impressed me about WoG.

So, do you play an instrument then?
Also, I'd love a soundtrack.

Re: SoundtrackBallisticsfood03/08/2008 - 07:57

Although it's good, that's not one of the pieces from WoG, is it?

Re: Soundtrackdarkfritz205/14/2008 - 13:47

could u at least upload the soundtracks of the 2 trailers that u made? XD i realy love it! i want that music! NOW!  ;D ;D :P

Re: Soundtrackcharon1210/14/2008 - 05:19

I just finished the last level of the game and I am listening to the music as I write this. Epic, Fantastic, Catchy, all come to mind as I listen. So I did a search and found several topics regarding the soundtrack. Okay, why am I posting in this really old topic? It seems a bit dramatic to dig this up but it's for a good cause. In my search I found this little gem:

I am officially declaring my interest in "a proper soundtrack." I haven't heard an in-game, movie, anything soundtrack that I've wanted to buy in a long time. The music is fantastic and I'd just like to point to a few other topics all saying the same thing as me: you must soundtrack this! and Musical Goo. Your fans would love a soundtrack and music this goo-d would be very worthy of the full track treatment.

Kyle and Ron - Thank you for this game; it has been a true delight to play.

Re: SoundtrackGerryC10/15/2008 - 10:51

Beside the gameplay being brilliant, the music plays an integral part in each stage! Very soothing and at times hectic, but always memorable!

I'd buy this soundtrack in a heartbeat! ;D

Re: SoundtrackDamon F10/15/2008 - 11:02

A full orchestral and original soundtrack is desired and demanded here too!

Chapter 5's riffing on Vangelisy-Blade-Runnery goodness is divine.

Altogether wonderful and great.

Re: Soundtrackxepherys10/15/2008 - 13:08

All in favor?

*aye*

Re: SoundtrackSqoon10/15/2008 - 14:04

I've been making "game soundtrack"-style MP3s from the raw OGGs lately, though I would definitely buy an official soundtrack if one became available.

Re: Soundtrackkevielumps11/11/2008 - 11:36

Just putting in my own 2 cents that I'd love to see a soundtrack as well!! ;D

Re: SoundtrackOdyani11/11/2008 - 15:06

Indeed the soundtrack tot he game in absolutely astounding. Synthesized or orchestrated, I would buy a soundtrack to have the sounds of goo follow me everywhere!

Re: Soundtrackwnmnkh11/16/2008 - 11:28

This game is worth 20 bucks with the music alone.

Willing to spend another bucks for full version of tracks.

Count me as another dude "I'd like to buy soundtrack CD (or) FLAC files"

Re: SoundtrackTheGooBallGuru11/16/2008 - 21:27

The soundtrack of World of Goo beat out pretty much every indie game's soundtrack, and I would love to buy a boxed version, cuz it would only get more awesome from there

Re: Soundtrackpixcalcis11/19/2008 - 02:33

indeed, the soundtrack is probably one of my favorite parts of the game....and its one of the best soundtracks ive heard in a game

id definitely buy a copy, especially if its orchestrated!

Re: Soundtrackspliter11/19/2008 - 07:08

I said it before, and I say it again:
http://kylegabler.com/oldsite/contents/music/index.html

I found at least 3 musics from WoG, namely:
The Red Carpet music: "Number 2"
Ending: "Best of Times"
Last level of chapter 3:Stratagem Main Theme (Short)
Windmills Level: inspired by Jelly SubwayDescending (short)
Anyway, just download them all, they're all beautiful, and many WoG musics are either a part of those, or are inspired by those.
Seems Kyle isn't only a great Game Creator, but an awesome music artist too ;)

Re: SoundtrackJens11/19/2008 - 14:10

I also found a song. It's a remix by some other guy (I got it from a blog post on 2dboy in the days, some darkwater - guy made it. I'll dig the article up if anyone needs it).
Link: http://www.dasflux.net/download/Hulgan_g00.mp3

It has a very world of goo - feel, except for the ending. I can still appreciate these kind of samples :).
If the person who made this is watching, thanks.

I'd like to point out that the theme for Cog in the Machine seems to be based off of the Night of the Living Dead Anthem

Re: SoundtrackGermanSeabass11/21/2008 - 07:52

Hey fellow goo-ers. I'm a bit late with latching onto the Goo fandom, but glad I made it here! Since this goes along the soundtrack / music idea... here's my contribution to WoG: Piano-solo sheet music! I'm still in the process of arranging the songs (by ear), but it's fun having a melody as addicting as Impale Sticky stuck in your head.

Feedback is always welcome -- I'd love to know what you guys think of it so far! I hope to perform these myself - as soon as I have the other 3 songs arranged and posted for y'all. I'll have it all posted on my Youtube account More info here: http://goo.sebastianwolff.info/

Re: Soundtracksfwarrf01/01/2009 - 12:23

I'd love to purchase a full soundtrack instead of looping the clips I currently am doing. I particularly like "Rain, Rain, Windy, Windy." It sounds so familiar! I'd love to know the credits on this loop to get a full version of it if it exists. As said here over and over, the music is excellent and a brilliant compliment to the game play! Kudos!!

Re: Soundtrackjpmccord01/03/2009 - 13:46

I would definitely buy a full soundtrack if one were available. Also, I hope I'm not alone in this, but I would prefer the synthesized music that's in the game itself, since that's what I've heard and fallen in love with. Proper orchestral arrangements would be cool and all, but I want the music I hear to take me straight back into the game, and an orchestral arrangement might not sound the same.

Re: Soundtrackthom01/04/2009 - 03:27

I'm now into Chapter 4 and noticed the music in the World of Goo Corp sandbox has changed to a sort of tribute to old sega-era games. Very cute. It also gets extremely annoying after about 2 minutes. Please tell me it switches back to something nice that you can listen to for hours by the end of the game.
