I just played WoG on a Pentium III 550MHz, with an Intel i810 integrated graphics card (Hewlett Packard Pavilion 6670 - with upgraded RAM and processor) in thousands of colours.

It was surprisingly playable, if you moved the mouse smoothly. For some reason, WoG Corporation was incredibly jerky, whereas the levels were quite smooth, with even more gooballs. strange.

I played through the first 4 levels, and was never frustrated - which means the box-specs can be lowered substantially  :D

Nice find :D
Helpful for when I get my Acer Aspire One, small little Laptop/Umpc/EeePc hybrid :)

I have a first generation eeePC (600Mhz), and it runs great under Ubuntu 8.10 linux with crossover games (got my free license of it on "Say thanks to Bush for ruining the economy" day, hehe).
But I guess it will run the same on stock wine, haven't tried though.

The new EeePC's are 1.6MHz, so I think your original 600MHz speed for the original 7" EeePC is a bit short of the actual. I though the original was 900MHz, as 600MHz would be virtually unusable.

Yes they are 1.6GHz, but they are an in-order core. The 900 MHz EeePCs (the 700 series is 600 or something), are actually equivalent in performance.

I have a 701eeePC (the 7 inch screen version), and while advertised with 900 Mhz, it really runs on 600 Mhz, mandated by the Bios (probably to save energy, it's no Atom yet, but a Celeron), although the CPU actually is a 900Mhz (it can be "overclocked"  by software)

I stand corrected!  :(

Here I was, just impressed that it ran on my Mini 9 Dell (1.6ghz Atom 1 gig).  Makes me wonder if I can dig out my old Celeron 300a (Overclocked to 500mhz, those are the days..)

Only can play the demo though.  I am stuck at this data center till this system is imaged and my Paypal dongle is at home.
