I have been desperate to play World of Goo since I first saw the trailer, but I use a mac. I really couldn't wait for the mac release, especially when some people were playing the demo version (*jealous*)! So it's taken a little while due to time and cost - had to buy an external hard drive to back up my work, install Leopard, install Boot Camp, install Windows - but finally I'm there! And it's every bit as good as I hoped! The music and graphics are fantastic and the whole game is a work of genius!

Just wanted to share what I've found out in the process in case it's useful:
Using an Intel iMac: Wine gave a Access Violation error. Runs perfectly on Boot Camp.
Using a MacBook: In Crossover the screen flickered and the code wasn't accepted. Runs perfectly on Boot Camp

I had problems with the original game download, getting an NSIS error, but Kyle sorted me out with an FTP link.

I love 2d boy :D

Good news! And thanks for all the useful info, I hope that helps other mac users.

Is there still no demo for the mac???
I'd have to buy a ton of software to get goo on my macbook pro...
I had a quick go on a friends pooter, only played two rounds now I wana play it on my mac.

Is getting bootcamp, and windows, risking losing all my stored data, the only way to get goo?

???

That, or having patience. The beta for the native mac version is currently being tested.

It works flawlessly under paralells, so no need to mess with bootcamp and partitions!

How do you manage that!? It won't run at all on Parallels for me....

I did nothing special, ordinary XP install, paralells drivers, it just worked. I have a black Macbook (late 2007) if that is of any meaning.

But that's not important, because we will have Mac version by the end of this week!  ;D
