First of all: Since I'm no native speaker I hope "Frame Rate" is the right word. I mean the one that's measured in Hertz.
My problem is that the World of Go Demo starts with a frame rate that can't be displayed by my monitor, wich results in the monitor shutting down itself. So which config file may I edit to set it to something like 72 Hz?

Changing the line:
<param name="refreshrate" value="60" />
In properties/config.txt should do it.
Change 60 to 72 or what ever your monitor desires.

Hm, sadly not. Tried several combinations that should work (at least they did in other games) but still my monitor shuts down when starting the game.

if you run it in window mode(press alt+enter after starting the game) should prevent this from happening.

also if you force vsync with your graphicscard drivers it should fix it in fullscreen mode.
