When on the chapter menu, move the mouse over the lower left of the sphere, or more right from the lower right quadrant of the sphere.  When the mouse enters an area, a white rectangle box will flicker over that area then disappear.  When moved out of the box, the rectangle will flicker blue.

When I tabbed out to make that post, I could not get the game to resume when tabbing back in.

Interestingly enough, the bug is not showing up anymore, and the planet sphere is actively responding to my mouse movements and there seem to be a lot more animations running at that menu.

Perhaps it is a problem on the first game run or magic key validation screen?
