Retail CD won't install on Vista 32

I am getting the following error message when trying to install a new retail copy on my system (Vista 32).

"Cannot prepare main package.  Probably corrupt package, incorrect TMP/TEMP variables or there is no execute permission for temporary folder."

I just installed another program without problems.  So I know the hardware is working, at least.

I am running from an Admin account.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

try copying the install from the cd to the hard drive and run it again.
