Weird graphics on Ubuntu 8.10

I can't see any screenshot from link you provided... I think intel 945 integrated chip is enough to play WoG, but you must first make sure that your Mesa/DRI driver is working, so do you turn off compiz and is your

glxinfo | grep direct

says 'direct rendering: Yes'?

Yes, 3dAcc is enabled:

No. Compiz and other Compiz-like things are deactivated.

Yeah, your screenshot is correct - World of Goo IS blackish world ;D.

Are you using the Linux version or the windows-version inside wine? If the latter is the case either download the linux-version or deactivate pixel shaders in winecfg.

Other than that.. your screenshot looks perfectly fine.. do you have another that shows where the problem is?
