Branching off this (slightly heated -- sorry!) thread:

Dear 2DBoy, could we please get the updates on Steam (thread), or at least a comment explaining the situation? Thank you!

Until Steam get their butts in gear you have to apply the patch your self.

As commented on that Steam thread, apply the official patch available from here.

I must reiterate that this is unlikely to be Steam's fault (though if it is, it'd be nice to know so that I could contact Valve instead). If you have nothing better to do than harass me, please do it in the other thread.

Valve do not have enough time to approve every game update on steam, they are only a team of ~50 and at the moment they are busy making two new games

:D LOL :D

Seriously far out on BOTH numbers you've used there... ;)

Re: Steam updates?spazturtle08/04/2009 - 08:11

Sorry what i meant to say was the team who do all the things with Steam is only ~50 people, Valve consists off about 200 people. And at the moment the two games they are making are Half Life 2: EP 3 and Left 4 Dead 2

Re: Steam updates?TheHermit08/05/2009 - 09:46

Valve are currently working on AT LEAST 2 other new games. One is a sequal/prequal to Portal, the other I can't say... but you'll probably be able to find some info if you look hard enough... Plus they are also doing updates for some already released games including TF2 & L4D.

Spread those 200 people out evenly between those KNOWN games and you get LESS than the number of people you claim just work on Steam. That sounds a little unlikely to me!
:D

Re: Steam updates?spazturtle08/05/2009 - 11:18

They are only doing work on two games at the moment, yes they are making other games but they are not actively being worked on

Re: Steam updates?TheHermit08/06/2009 - 09:55

So you deny that they are releasing a new chapter for L4D next month then? http://planethalflife.gamespy.com/fullstory.php?id=159511
Why is it not being released until then? Because they are doing final bug testing. If that isn't "working on" then what is it? ::)

Re: Steam updates?spazturtle08/07/2009 - 07:14

that is a dlc not a game ;)

Re: Steam updates?TheHermit08/07/2009 - 16:14

So none of the "200" staff that are testing the DLC are "working"? :-\

NAH!!! :D
Having fun, but still working on it...
