Can't connect to internet in 64-bit ubuntu (Karmic, 9.10)m_gol10/16/2009 - 15:28

Hi,

I purchased today a 1.41 version of World of Goo and installed a deb in my 64-bit Ubuntu. When I enter the "corporation" level, I see a message that I cannot connect to the internet. Of course in Ubuntu everything works, I use no proxy. How could I fix the issue?

Thanks for help.

Karmic is in beta, not all software will work properly on it

So, should I expect it to be fixed as soon as Karmic goes final? It will happen on Oct 29th, in 13 days (RC will be released on 22th, in 6 days). Will so much change to that time? I doubt it... Especially that every other app is able to connect to the internet.

No offence but I still hope sb knows what could possibly cause the problem. :)

I'm on Ubuntu 9.04 and the internet connection in the Corporation does not work for me either. I looked around a little, seems like a few people are having this problem but I didn't find any solution. Maybe the servers are taking a beating right now? I'm running it on a Dell laptop, M4400, the ethernet adapter I'm using is an Intel 82567LM.

Edit: After I posted this I saw this thread - http://2dboy.com/forum/index.php/topic,2091.0.html

Looking around the forum, it seems there's an issue with the server the game connects to, due to the higher demand from the birthday sale. I would suggest waiting to see if the connection issues clear up once the birthday sale is over.

I'm currently running Jaunty myself, but will be upgrading to karmic once the release goes live. :)
