Hi, just got world of goo.  It is an awesome game. I am using Ubuntu 9.10 karmic koala and the game just randomly freezes.  Any ideas?

I concur. After about 20-30 minutes of play on ubuntu 9.10, the game freezes up while the music continues to play. Or it just exits. Very frustrating.

Running 32-bit gnome ubuntu 9.10 on an HP Pavilion a1700n (AMD Dual Core).
Using NVIDIA 185.18.36 driver on a GForce 6150 LE board.

Any suggestions, patches, or fixes appreciated!

thanks
Mark

This could well be a hardware problem (video card overheating). Is there anything interesting in the game's log file (at ~/.WorldOfGoo/WorldOfGoo.log)?

Just a shot in the dark, but you could try to install the updated libraries with the patch here. It should make little difference, but it can't harm.

Thanks for the response. Will try and post back.

Checked the logs... This might be rather interesting.  WARNING: skipping 37 simulation frames!

Seems like it worked.  Thanks.  Still have the problem in World of Goo corporation though.
