WoG not starting on Mac

I have purchased and downloaded World of Goo through Steam on a brand new MacBook Pro:
NVIDIA GeForce 320M
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
OS 10.6.4

When I start WoG from Steam, a dialog box pops up that says "preparing to launch", it quickly closes and then continues to very quickly re appear and close over and over.  The game has never launched.

I have reinstalled the game twice now.

Did you try to remove World of Goo completely from your Mac and download it again from Steam? Maybe download was corrupted somehow
