Game does not start. Please read | Junior | 11/09/2008 - 00:27 |
First off fun game. I hope you guys def get somewhere with it. Although ive spent about an hour going through your support threads and it's like 2/10 threads you guys respond to. Lets hope this is one of them =]
So I had an issue where my monitor went out of range whenever the game loaded. But the Resolution was very low. I changed it several times and still went out. I then just hit alt+enter and played in windows mode.
Now I have a bigger issue. When I go to play WoG now I click on the exe and the game doesn't load at all. No screen, But I do see a box pop up(Kinda like when you have an application open) and sometimes it looks like the game pops up briefly and disappears.
Any advice on getting WoG back up and running would help a lot.
Best of luck to 2d boy.
Edit - This is the error I get.

Hey Junior, a few things to try:
[li]-Make sure you are running the latest version. Just download the game again, and install over your existing version. [/li] [li]-Disable any antivirus/firewall/antianything software. Some require actually uninstalling them, since they install driver-level crap that just slows down and ruins your computer. [/li] [li]-If you have multiple monitors, try disabling all but your primary. [/li] [li]-If all else fails, try either deleting or renaming your pers2.dat file (just search for it). It's possible it has become corrupted. [/li]
Post here if any of these help, or if you discover something new! Last modified Sun, 11/09/2008 - 22:43 by kyle |

A long shot here, but I wonder if there's a compatibility issue with the Language settings of the Windows installation? Junior, what language is Windows set to and have you tried changing this? |

No fire wall at all.
And language is set to english.
I deleted everything from WoG and reinstall and it works fine. BUt I have to play in Alt+enter(Windowed) and I cant figure out exactly why. Every driver is up to date though. |

Just an addtion to This.
I am running Windows XP with the latest patches and Drivers with just a single monitor.
I get the same issue (Input Signal out of range)when I run wog with a default 17" Think Vision monitor set at 1020x768. then I tried setting up a monitor from another computer, a 22" Dell. set at 1280X1024 Everything worked fine after that.
Could there be an issue with the 1024X768 Resolution? |

I had the same problem - freshly installed XP with all the patches, but WoG failed to load and crash.txt told me of an access denied error. :'( None of the suggestions above helped, but then I realised that I hadn't installed the drivers for my motherboard's audio. ::) Once I did this, it all worked. ;D
PS I did also remove Bitdefender. But I've now reinstalled it without stopping WoG. |

Another addition,
If I start wog in widowed mode it runds. Then I can change it to full screen and it still seems to work. |

another solution to the multiple monitor scenario: running 64-bit win7, i set the WoG shortcuts to run with the program minimized. (right-click, properties, etc). both of my monitors blink for a bit, then the game opens up fullscreen on the primary monitor. no idea how, but it seems to work. |
