I am having some audio troubles in game, I can hear most things but sometimes the sound loops and makes an awful noise. My game does not freeze, but it is quite annoying.

I find the sound loops just after I have placed a ball of Goo (attached it to the block or whatever).

I am playing the full version bought off Steam.

Also, is there a way that I can disable the game sound or at least turn it down?

Here are my specs:

I have the ones from 5/20/08.  Are you getting them from the realtek site?  I've occasionally had issues & always keep a previous version of the drivers available.
