I received an email today in my inbox that I found most disturbing. It would seem that 2D Boy is either selling our contact info, or their database has been compromised. I have never received any email like this from any other message board I've been a member of and I'm very disappointed to get this one now. I wasn't sure where to post this or whom to alert, so my apologies if this is the wrong spot. Here is the email I received. It's obviously a scam.


Edit: Well it looks like since I actually have my email posted in my profile this may be no one's fault but my own, but I thought 2D Boy might like to know they have some unsavory character trolling the forums in a manner I've not encountered before.

it's a harvest program filling in blanks.  you must not of ever used your e-mail for anything (or it's new) if you've never gotten stuff like this before.  I've been getting stuff like this for years!  I've gotten spam from me saying I sent myself the spam because I thought I'd like it!

I just got that exact same message, and I realized I had forgot to check the hide my email address box in my account settings. I just checked your profile, and it appears you forgot to do that as well. Check that box, update your profile, and your spam worries should vanish. Trust me, 2DBoy would never give out your information like that.

Well since it is my mistake, I guess I can't be too upset. But there must be some way to make that the default setting.

I agree, that seems like the kind of thing that should be set at default. Oh well, these things happen.
