"Fatal Error!" Message

Every time I try to start up WoG on my computer, I get a dialog box saying:

I played this on my friends computer, loved it and decided to get it but its not working now. Im so lost because I've never seen this before...  ???  PLEASE HELPP!

If you are using the steam version, make sure steam is running.

this is often caused by anti-malware or anti-virus programs.  we know that both ThreatFire and look'n'stop caused this to happen.  try disabling your anti-malware / anti-virus programs before running the game.  also, if you search the forums for ThreatFire, there's a recent post about how world of goo and ThreatFire can peacefully live together on the same computer.
