My Thinkpad X24 (1GHZ P3, 640mb RAm, radeon M6 LY 8MB VRAM) with Win XP SP3 and the newest DirectX 9 doesnt run World of Goo, because it shows the error message: "Failed to create Direct3D object".
Of course i ran it with 800x600 and 16 bpp.
But my Omnibook 6100 (933Mhz P3, 256mb Ram, radeon M6 LY 16MB VRAM) with win XP runs it fine?

Works on my X22. I use the Omega ATI drivers. My internet is acting screwy so I cant get you the link. Just google it. Use version  6.'something' as its the lastest driver to support the gpu.

Goodluck

I've got a similar speced P3 NEC laptop except it has a 4MB ATI Rage Mobility M1 graphics adapter.  So far WOG won't work and it just gives multiple error messages stating some Direct3D failure.

Is there any hope for me and my old laptop?

I could load the game but it errored when running a level.  To fix this:
Run the game
Press ALT + ENTER to switch to windowed mode
Load the level - no more direct 3d error :)
