I hope I am not blind and missed any setup options (and maybe just because it's a work in progress...)

It would be nice if we could change the resolution of the game, especially support for widescreen. I run a dual monitor setup, and when I run the game, it first messes with my 2nd monitor and when I come back to desktop, everything on that monitor is messed up as well (icons moved, windows resized, etc). This happens all the time in games that don't support the resolution I use (1680x1050) on my main monitor.

Re: ResolutionsHellspark03/07/2008 - 05:38

As far as I can see, the game automatically adjust to the default resolution.

(i.e. what you have for your desktop).

Re: ResolutionsCrunchBite03/07/2008 - 11:30

On that note it would be nice to have the option to run the game in a window..

alt-enter would be what you are looking for then :-D

I have duel monitors & don't have the issues you're experiencing.  I use 1440x900.  Doesn't impact the 2nd monitor at all, except the occasional (and unreproducible) instance where the mouse will be able to go across both screens instead of the main one.

You have nvidia?

Re: ResolutionsComprox03/07/2008 - 17:16

Yah, I am using a 7800GT. When I load the game it shoves everything on my second monitor over so far it goes off the far end of it. And when I come back to my desktop it has moved stuff around, re-sized windows, moved icons, etc. This always happens when I first load a game, but once I set the resolution for it, it runs fine.

I am guessing it is using some kind of widescreen resolution in game, but only a default, lower one so it doesn't stretch.

Re: ResolutionsThe Happy Friar03/07/2008 - 22:10

what's the duel monitor settings?  Is it extended?  That's what my ATI is.

Re: ResolutionsComprox03/08/2008 - 12:30

Yes, I am using the extended settings. I always thought everyone had this problem, seems it is quite limited to even just me :)

Re: ResolutionsThe Happy Friar03/08/2008 - 15:13

i check & the game is 800x600 on my widescreen monitor.  I just hit the monitor settings button on my monitor to see that.

is yours?

Re: ResolutionsComprox03/08/2008 - 16:41

Odd, mine is showing 800x600 as well. And yes, my desktop is definitely set at 1680x1050 :P

Re: Resolutionsmatto199003/09/2008 - 04:31

The game defaults to 800*600 even on widescreen. It messes up the windows i have in the background of my primary monitor when iI exit the game. Makes then a maximum of 800*600. We should reslly have an option to set our own resolution.

Re: ResolutionsDil99903/09/2008 - 05:57

My computer runs on 1440x900 and after I exit the game everything remains fine.

Re: ResolutionsThe Happy Friar03/09/2008 - 07:36

everything remains fine for me too.  Theo only games that mess up my screen (only open windows, icons are left alone) are Quake 2 & 3.

Re: Resolutionsmatto199003/09/2008 - 12:32

I have two monitors but they are at different resolutions (Ones a laptop screen and the other is a 20" screen). Could this be causing it?

Re: ResolutionsComprox03/09/2008 - 16:42

My monitor setup also has different resolutions on each (different size monitors), but neither run 800x600 still.

Re: ResolutionsThe Happy Friar03/09/2008 - 18:20

my WS main monitor is 1440x900 & the 2nd monitor is 1024x768.

Try starting the game with the second monitor off.  This hasn't made a difference for me but it might for you.  Or try disabling the 2nd monitor before you start the game & see what happens. If it re-arranges the icons it could be a driver+resolution issue (old games seem to have this issue where they'll change the resolution, then blink to minimized real quick, shift everything around, blink back to their res & when you exit everything is messed up.)

Re: Resolutionsmatto199003/10/2008 - 03:41

That seemed to stop the windows being resized but the resolution was still only 800*600 :(
