Is there any way to stop music from playing? I found you can rename .\res\music, but is there a commandline option that does it, or will there be an option in the final game?

Cheers

Yeah, we'll have volume sliders and mute buttons

you mean... AMAZING!!

Re: Stop music playingMarius04/05/2008 - 20:10

BLAH is an acronym for beautiful long-lasting amazing hyper-awesomeness. Obviously.
He only wants to turn it off because his neighborhood can't get any work done due to its hyper-awesomeness.

Re: Stop music playingFunkyLlama04/06/2008 - 06:33

Why would you want to? The music is orgasmic!

Re: Stop music playingWiggles05/10/2008 - 18:57

I think the music is good.  It really fits the theme well.

Re: Stop music playinglawlruschang05/11/2008 - 23:09

The music on the level with the frog just makes me want to go out into the world and accomplish something

Re: Stop music playingDil99905/12/2008 - 00:48

but no matter how much we want to accomplish things, staying in our seats and playing WoG is always the outcome  ;D

What, playing WoG isn't accomplishing anything? :P

Re: Stop music playingcheckers05/20/2008 - 02:35

It's not that I hated the music, it's just that listening to the same music for hours on end gets grating :P That said, the crazy spanish flamenco music in the washing machine level is awesome.

Re: Stop music playingLeeds_guy11/23/2008 - 18:49

;D

I love the music, honest..  but I'm always playing WOG on my Mac while I'm trying to watch/listen to the TV running on the Mac.. the result is a total mess, so a mute button would be great thanks! :-)

Best put

Re: Stop music playingjrodman11/29/2008 - 12:36

The music rules.  But has a very disturbing tendency to continue to play while the mac is going to sleep and to start playing while it is waking up.  It's not possible during these times to adjust the mac's volume.

You might want to see if you can capture the "we're going to sleep now" event somehow, but just a game-specific mute button to push before going to sleep would be welcome.

Re: Stop music playingOehr12/21/2008 - 07:17

the ending theme with the extraordinary bass made me come. twice!

vista has one neat feature: volume controll for each app :)

overwrite the music files with these. you wont have any music left in the game, just some soundeffects and some bg sounds(such as birds and so on). if you want no sound at all, just do the same with the sounds folder as i did with them music: silent oggs

I immediately fell in love with the soundtrack, it's amazing. I was able to download it, but I think 2D Boy should release it commercially. I'm sure a lot of people including me would purchase it. Not only can Kyle Gabler help create an amazing game, but he's a great musical talent too. I'm jealous. :P

Where were you able to download it?  I would love it if 2D Boy sold it commercially.

Are the tracks any different to the OGGs in the WoG installation?
WorldOfGoo/res/music

Should play in any sensible media player.

Nope, they're the same. I just realized I could listen to them that way. :P

Re: Stop music playingdasflux12/26/2008 - 04:09

The cost of cd manufacturing gets up there quick.  Digital distribution would be the way to go for a sound track release.  Does seem there is a demand for it from goo fanatics.  They should milk this puppy for what its worth.  Starting with a DS port...

Re: Stop music playingmariomguy12/30/2008 - 10:38

The title of this post shouldn't be "Stop music playing," it's just a suggestion. If you're multitasking on your computer and you can't mute your whole computer, there should be an option to mute the game. Honestly, World of Goo shouldn't be a parasite on your computer :( if you're doing something else, stop the game!

Re: Stop music playingninetailorochimaru01/01/2009 - 13:46

WHY wuld YOU want to turn the usic off? It is so aweomelyincredible escpecially ince the music goes on and on and on and on and onand onand onand onand onand onand onand onand onand onand onand onand onand onand

Re: Stop music playingojrac01/05/2009 - 22:26

Not to bring this back on topic, but:

It's incredibly frustrating not to have any options at all. I want to control the screen resolution (ideally, I could just resize it from windowed mode) and I need to control the music/effect volume; if I weren't using Vista, I'd have no way to adjust the volume at all. If I don't want the music, I have to mute the whole game.

I got WoG as a relaxing game to space out with; I'd like to listen to my own music when I play. I love the music you provided, by the way. I just don't always want to hear it.
