ZOMG!  Google Chrome!
Google's internet browser was released today.  I'm absolutely loving it- a sleeker and MUCH faster interface due to the fact that it's multi-threaded and runs with multiple processes.
The only problem is that some of the greyish-white text of forums (especially these ones) is hard to read.

Re: Google ChromeMacatttack09/02/2008 - 22:46

I don't like it.  :'(

Re: Google ChromeMarius09/03/2008 - 04:50

I'm posting this from Chrome :)
Why is this harder to read? I didn't notice it... Are you sure? I'd think the browser should have nothing to do with what the site offers.
Anyway, I'm missing my mouse gestures, and there's already a bug found that crashes the entire browser, not just the tab, but I like it. it's fast, and their new javascript VM sounds good, and gmail is quite fast now.

It passes the acid2 test, but the acidtest.org site is probably so much ddos'd right now by chrome users that I can't test acid3.

Re: Google Chrometair00109/06/2008 - 06:18

Fast? Chrome is BLINDINGLY fast compared with the other browsers at the moment, especially the atrocious IE8 Beta 2 (which I keep finding to be slower than IE7, what's up with that?!) - once a page is loaded, the multithreading means that caching loads up the pages even faster than before, the new look is minimalistic but fantastic, Incognito/Porn mode works very well, and so far I've had no compatibility problems with any website - people tell me the new version of Facebook doesn't work with it but I've had no trouble.

Can't wait for the final release!

Re: Google Chrometair00109/06/2008 - 06:20

EDIT: also posting from Chrome  ;D

Re: Google ChromeMarius09/06/2008 - 06:35

Aye, I've noticed as well that somethings you can't click the links in facebook. But you're saying this isn't a problem in the old version?
*switches to old facebook*

Edit: Lol, I can't click the "back to the old Facebook" link :P

true...

Re: Google Chromeonlinetimc10/15/2008 - 10:04

So do you think Goo-gle will sponsor the World of Goo-gle???
I'm sure there is 1/2 a lawsuit there regarding trademarks...

By the way, love Chrome too, nice and clean.  It does have serious issues with PDFs though.

Oh and so glad the Wii version isn't the World of Wii!

And it doesn't follow any standards at all, making website developing way harder.

Re: Google Chromeonlinetimc10/16/2008 - 02:47

Interesting, thought it was a feature but when I use PDFs inside Chrome on any of the computers I have it the whole of Chrome grinds to a stop until (I guess) the PDF is fully loaded.  It is particularly odd because with it's multithreadiness it is the last thing I expected to see.  Anyway a version behind with the reader so will update that.

MS standards aren't perfect...

Re: Google ChromeMarius10/16/2008 - 07:08

They're not MS's standards. They're just regular standards, which everyone can stick to, so your code works in every browser. Except IE. That was his point...

Re: Google Chromeonlinetimc10/16/2008 - 09:54

duh, thought he meant IE is better because it uses standards...fair nuff then.

Re: Google Chromeerictg10/24/2008 - 09:39

I love Chrome also except when there is a PDF.  I think it depends on how much system memory you have. At work I have problems with Chrome because my computer only has 1GB of RAM.  My home computer has 8GB of RAM and the PDFs load easier...  Still needs work though.

Re: Google ChromeTroute10/26/2008 - 23:53

I do kinda love Chrome, I've been using it whenever I wanna do some quick browsing. (I'm too addicted to Opera, so I can't really change :P )

However lately I've been having trouble displaying certain pages, including YouTube, for some reason. I do like its general smoothness, though :)

Re: Google ChromeMarius10/27/2008 - 02:55

If it doesn't display youtube videos, you can upgrade your flash to version 10 (beta). That fixes it.
Tiny problem that that brings is that you can't see MSN winks anymore. Depends on you if that's a problem.

Re: Google ChromeTroute10/27/2008 - 03:55

I absolutely hate Live Messenger, so that's not a problem :P

It's not just the videos, though, the page looks like it's missing its stylesheet. It's not just youtube, either, it's kinda random. Might try your suggestion anyways, I wanna use Chrome :)

Re: Google Chromepaledragon6411/09/2008 - 12:58

How is it compared to Firefox? Does Chrome have as many features as Firefox does?

I might just get Chrome because it sounds like it's really fast, but if it's not as fast as Firefox...

Re: Google ChromeMarius11/09/2008 - 13:04

Err.... for me it's a lot faster than firefox, especially when booting.
It has plug-in capability, but the problem is, there's not many plug-ins around yet. I especially miss having mouse gestures...

Re: Google Chromesureideas04/17/2009 - 15:10

I like Chrome, but, it's not going to displace IE and Firefox for me yet. Maybe one day we'll get one that will incorporate them all, I think that's what Google wants anyway as they could only gain from it.

Re: Google Chromejmleleven05/31/2009 - 17:12

Chrome: Fast, good looking, many features.
Internet Explorer: Bad. Deal with it.
Mozilla FireFox: Looks sorta like IE, features like Chrome. Mid-way speed.
All posts you see by me- were (and are!) posted on Chrome.

Re: Google Chromejmleleven06/15/2009 - 07:06

Well, i do fine on Chrome. Try getting the Java that GooTool requires, it installs with GooTool if you didn't already have it. BTW: Chrome is LIGHTNING compared to others.

I agree! It is also simple and easy to use, it look like great too, very smooth.

Re: Google Chromejmleleven06/15/2009 - 13:03

Also, look at the video attatchment of chrome! It's what you can do with the "loading bar". (it's a 3gpp video, sorry. you'll need quicktime or nero 8 full version)

Gah! Why do people reply to old topics? I don't use Google Chrome, for the record.
