For everyone out there with a PS3, this game is probably one of the biggest releases for the console.  A return to the classic platform with some great gameplay, beautifully creative art, and an extremely powerful level editor.  Does anybody else have a PS3 here and plan to play?  I don't have anybody to play with over PSN right now, so if you want to play together, post your account and I'll send you a friend request.

Played it in Leipzig at the gaming convention. 't was nice :)
Don't have a PS3 though...

Re: Little Big PlanetThe Kitchen Sink10/16/2008 - 22:32

Oh man am I PUMPED for LittleBigPlanet. I already preordered it.

Yeah, I barely have anyone to play with, so I'm TheKitchenSink on PSN.

*squeals like a giddy schoolgirl*

I actually convinced my mother to let me have Wednesday off so I could play it >____>

I envy you both.
I'll add you the next time i get on my PS3.  The soonest that I'll have the game is 3:00PM Pacific time on Tuesday, and I'll probably have ~3 hours to play.

Re: Little Big PlanetChetyre10/17/2008 - 09:16

Whoa, I didn't realize it came out so soon!  I'm going to buy it when I get my next paycheck I believe.

I'm ChetyreSlayer on PSN (I think...I'm rarely signed into PSN since I don't have many friends with PS3's).

Re: Little Big PlanetDil99910/18/2008 - 01:20

I'm so pissed and confused right now.  I don't get it...  Sony has, for some reason, decided to reprint and redistribute the millions of games already circulating around the world, and all because of what... 2 obscure Somalian lines (<.01% of the population probably speaks Somalian) that may or may not reference The Qur'an (0.6% of the population) and may or not offend those people.  Basically, less than .0036% of the population even has a CHANCE of understanding it, a CHANCE of hearing it on ONE LEVEL, and a CHANCE of being offended.  Seriously- what the hell?  A simple patch could have done the exact same thing without losing Sony millions of dollars.

Re: Little Big PlanetThe Kitchen Sink10/18/2008 - 13:24

Just another reason to hate religion in my books >_<

This better not be delayed for too long D:

To be fair, though, I don't think Sony is going to lose millions on this; they'll just get the millions a bit later. I don't think any significant amount of people are going to not buy the game because of this.

But seriously, how many LBP players are going to be offended by that? Five? D:

EDIT: Update: It's pushed back only to the 27th. That's only six days, which isn't too bad.

Where'd you come up with the .6% number for Islam? It's 21% from most sources.

Re: Little Big PlanetThe Kitchen Sink10/19/2008 - 09:09

Well, I would think not in the major countries it's being launched in.

It's being release world-wide, as far as I know. And one lawsuit would erase the difference in profits lost by delaying one week and remastering.

Two things:

Yes, but generally if it's *not* a major country, most people won't be able to afford a PS3, electricity, and LittleBigPlanet (at least as a priority). So I mainly look at figures in the major countries.

Two, a lawsuit? What's illegal about quoting the Qu'ran? Nothing at all. That some people would get offended is their problem. I merely posit that Sony stands to lose more from recalling the copies than it does from potential unsold copies to up-in-arms Muslims. And that we have to wait an extra week because of that. :(

I'm looking at America alone for those statistics.

You have an odd understanding of lawsuits. "Legality" rarely has anything to do with them.

Oh, and do you trivialize all religions that intrude on your gaming, or just Muslims? For some reason, I don't think this is the sort of social experience the game authors are hoping to engender . . .

Why?

I'm just looking at America because it is one of the the only places that I don't think should have a recall.  I understand if it were recalled in areas that would be affected more by it, such as most of Europe.

Re: Little Big PlanetThe Kitchen Sink10/21/2008 - 14:57

Doesn't matter, I got it today anyways :D

Re: Little Big PlanetDil99910/21/2008 - 17:30

How??

Re: Little Big PlanetThe Kitchen Sink10/21/2008 - 18:16

Turns out a few stores don't know about the recall. I exploited this.

Re: Little Big PlanetAbi10/21/2008 - 20:11

Gah! I just want a PS3 for this game, it looks so cute and fun >.<
It would be so awesome if Kyle and Ron made some levels for this game :D

Re: Little Big Planetchiron4710/24/2008 - 09:01

Hi all,
my first post here and it's not about goo ...
Here in Sweden we get LBP 7 nov and my whole family are waiting,
so it's great that we found WoG in the meantime.

Please, do add me at psn: chiron47

Re: Little Big PlanetDil99910/25/2008 - 01:14

Kitchen: Could you tell me in more detail about the level editor?  I would like to start planning ahead so it would be nice to know exactly how everything works (for example, I still don't really know how hinges or switches work and how flexible they are).
I'll be getting it next Wednesday, and my tag is HumanViking99 if anybody wants to add me.

EDIT: Nevermind.  I just checked my messages - gamestop says I'll have the game tomorrow afternoon :)
