GooTool 0.9 is now out! The main new feature of this version is that you can now enable addins and have them merged into your own custom World of Goo. So let development of new mods and levels begin!

I didn't manage to sort out Mac support in time for this release, but I do have a loaner MacBook at the moment so it's on the immediate TODO list. After that I'll be working on web profile support.

When I try "Save" it says "This is the first time you run gootool, it will take quite long for the initial save" and directly after that an empty popup with the title "Error writing configuration"

I couldn't find any logfile, so I don't know what is erroring.

A couple of people are having this problem, I haven't tracked it down yet. I'll add more debugging to the next version. Information about the logfile is here, but it doesn't help in this instance: http://goofans.com/gootool/troubleshooting/crash

You might try making sure your "custom" directory is writeable.

Custom directory is writeable, as well as all WoG files, some info that might help:

-Runnning everything as administrator.
-Gootool did not find WoG, I had to point it to the right location.
-WoG is installed in C:\Games\WorldOfGoo
-Gootool is in C:\Games\WorldOfGoo\Edit\GooTool-0.9.0.44
-Selected C:\Games\WorldOfGoo\addins as custom directory
-Windows XP SP2, is installed on H:\windows
-1 mod loaded, but not enabled. Custom made level with the level template xml file.

Works nicely.

Small remarks: it would be nice if the GUI indicated were to find the level while in game. I had to see the screenshot to figure out it would they were hidden in chapter 1.

For me log files were stored in:
c:\temp\gootool0.log

This is were my env variable points to:
TEMP=C:\temp
TMP=C:\temp

=> the issue may be caused with an invalid value of one of those...

Actually it says this at the top of the addins tab. I could add a popup when you first enable a level addin, telling you it will appear in Chapter 1.

A couple of people have reported this and it's to do with decoding the profile file. We had to reverse engineer the file format and clearly something's not quite right. I can't track it down because all my profiles are fine, so I need an example of a broken one. Would you be able to send me your pers2.dat file?

I've released GooTool 0.9.1 that will fix this problem. It's mostly a bugfix release for people who've had problems loading their profile, or who were getting an empty error message on the "Save" button. If 0.9.0 worked for you, you don't need to download this.

If you're still having problems loading your profile, please e-mail me your pers2.dat.

Fixed in the forthcoming 0.9.3, to be released tomorrow (barring major hangover), in the meantime you should be able to fix this by setting your resolution (in properties/config.txt) to something your monitor recognises.

Thx for the help. when update hits i shall upgrade asap. since the config is already set to 800 by 600 and im 100% certain my system fully supports 8 by 6.
