GooTool 0.10.3 is now out. I wanted to get this released ASAP, as recent Windows Vista updates are meaning more and more people are getting "unable to start primary instance server" errors. This is fixed in the new GooTool.
Windows users can now adjust the volume of both the music and effects in-game, thanks to a utility by Maks Verver. Simply go to the "options" tab in GooTool and "enable in-game volume controls". Note that this isn't officially supported.
There's also now a .deb Debian-format download, along with a few other improvements and bugfixes. Read on for the full changelog or download it here.
0.10.3, 18-Apr-2009
- Windows users can now enable Maks Verver's volume control via a checkbox
- Added "find more addins" link to the addins tab
- Added a Debian .deb build, added X Windows menu entry
- Added all the missing screen resolutions to options tab (mostly widescreen)
- Warn on startup if using demo version of World of Goo
- Friendlier version numbers in some places
- Use 127.0.0.1 instead of resolving "localhost": prevents it resolving to "::1" on IPv4-only systems giving "Address family not supported by protocol family: bind"
- Mime type is now application/x-world-of-goo-addin
- Removed the initial "WARNING" tab as it seems stable enough now

Are you planning to add a function to delete extra balls we get in custom levels in a next version ?
Volume control in GooTool is very useful, thanks.

I have just installed 0.10.3 and it is not working for me. I reinstalled 0.10.2 and it is ok. There is no error messages or warnings. Has someone else reported this?

The filename in that error message would be helpful
It's supposed to open ...\GooTool\lib\irrKlang\README.txt

There isn't a filename, it just says the error and opens a new notepad document.

Can you see if the "Find more addins" link on the Addins tab work? That uses a similar mechanism but opens a web page instead of a local file. This'll help me track down the problem.

Yes although there's no format to "decrypt" it into (it's not encrypted, it's just binary). I have an interim XML format I'm working on. *edit* here it is.
