I made a chart like Gil's one with the least moves possible in each level. :)

I'm sure there are a lot of levels not maxed. And there are some levels I'm not sure (Fisty, Tower of Goo, Misty etc...)

Break the chain until you get a line of two goos. Then the hard part ( ;D ) : you have to throw a goo on the line of two goos for it to reach the pipe. (many throws are necessary)

Tumbler 1 move??  Deliverance 2 moves??

I think, in Tumbler, I have to get one ivy goo to the other side of the wall and attach it and wait until the structure is upside down... right?? But how to get to the other side?  ???

I have no idea how to do Deliverance in 2 moves.. some help?  ;D

You're right for Tumbler : you have to be very quick to catch the goo after throwing it hard through the wall.

I would have to say 2 moves is near impossible for deliverance. That's one move from the top, and one from below. Love to see how.

Regurgitation Pumping Station : I think it can be done in around 10 moves by bumping a line of two green goos to the eye-ballon : I nearly got it a long time ago but it's horrible.

I just did it in 7 moves! :) All 7 birds should go on the scope but you have to wait a loooooong time for the bug to appear!

Yes, you got it! You have to break the initial structure to get a two goo line and use ivy goo to build a triangle. You are doing this because the ordinary triangle is stiff and it will not fit through the opening above. ivy goos are very flexible. Throw all-2 balls through the wall, it is very hard and annoying. it took me three days to get that score!  :D

Flying Machine-One move! I've finally set a record! Sorry for the quality. Taken on my cell phone. I hit the gates with balloons until they flew up, attached one balloon to the square, then kicked the structure upward with other balloons until it reached the pipe.

Yep, I'm still playing. Just not a whole lot. School keeps me busy. I would use a screenshot program if I had it for the pc, but I play on Wii. Good luck trying to pull it off on your own. Getting the right rhythm for pushing up the second gate took a while. Throw too hard and the balloon flies right through. Too soft and it won't go up.

Ah, World of Goo is a fantastic alternative to working on my History project. Anyway, I've set another record! Woohoo! Genetic Sorting Machine in 1 move. Unfortunately, that level doesn't give a finishing screen, so you'll have to take my word for it. I promise it's legitimate! I'll give a step by step here. I'll just link to the pictures so I don't fill the page up with a bunch of big images.Sorry for no video, guys. I decided that the cell phone's video quality would be really bad, and I can't find my camera, so pictures would be best. Never mind, I decided to make a video. See the bottom of the post.

Step 1: Knock the ugly goos into their section using ivies.

Step 2: Use an ivy goo to knock at least one little ugly goo out of the pit and into the string of greens to the left to wake them up. Next, disconnect one of the greens. This is the one move you will use.

Step 3: This is where I got creative! Use ivies to knock the beauty goo into the wrong side of the sorter. It will try to push her back into the starting area, but we won't let it. Use an ivy to continuously force her toward the gears. This is a lot easier than it sounds. The broken beauty goos will all pour into the pit. Yes, a few will die. No worries. This step is how we bypass one of the moves. We don't have to break the ivy strand to the right. Interestingly enough, the music changes as soon as you break the beauty goo. Hehe. I had to pause to get a good picture of this. Oh, and this is probably making some great statement against separating the beauty and ugly goos into different areas.....probably....

Step 4: Use ivy goos to knock as many beauty goos as you can out of the pit. Try to kill as few as possible. The goos will collect in the corner to the left. Carefully knock them upward, and the screwy gravity will do the rest. Once you go up to the beauty generator, use ivies to knock the arm up to the pipe. This was pretty tough, and thanks to LTumbleweed for proving that it's possible on youtube.

It takes some practice to pull off. I'm sure you can get it. The biggest thing is having as many ivies available as possible. Luckily for me, I had plenty of practice from trying to kick up the gates in Flying Machine. Hm, everyone seems to say that about the Wii. I've found the opposite to be true. I have the demo version for my mac, and I prefer the Wii controls. To each his own I suppose. And thank you for your kind words. You have also made some great records.

Why thank you, Pavke. Yeah, pushing the structure up was tough. If I may offer my advice, make sure the goo line going diagonally in the box is perpendicular to the ground when the balloon is attached. (Does that make sense?) That makes it a lot easier for a balloon you throw to connect and get the best upward push. Getting the box off the ground is the hardest part. Once you get it off, the upward momentum makes the rest easier. I used 2 balloons in the box. Not too much weight added, and I didn't have any problem grabbing a balloon when I was in a hurry.

Haha, sorry about that. I just go for whatever level inspires me. Really though, I don't see how you all think the Wii is harder. I beat the record on Flying Machine on my Wii, yet on my Mac demo I couldn't even kick up the first gate with 2 balloons attached. I find using a mouse to be far more cumbersome than just flicking my wrist around on the Wii. And thank you by the way for proving that it's possible to kick up the arm in Genetic Sorting Machine. The proof helped me remain persistent.

I understand the basic idea -- break a part of the structure, and toss balls at it to bump it up.

But how do you break off parts of the structure? There are balls on top of everything. How do you get to the green structure balls to break them?

And: If the idea is to build a triangle, and toss it up, doesn't it take three for the triangle, two more to build the pieces that the triangle will attach to, and two more to remove those? Since you can't break that initial square apart, you need two green balls between your triangle and the square.

I tried to pull this off once. I wasn't able to do all of it, but I think I can help you with the initial step of breaking the structure. Use the ivy goos to bounce the structure upward into the gears on either wall. That will break up the structure for you.

OK, so I've now seen two regurgitation pumping station videos showing OCD using normal completion (instead of throwing and using that hole), both of which used the whistle.

I didn't know the whistle was in the first chapter (I have the demo), but I've managed to get a 41 move OCD normally. I probably could have done better if I had time flies.

What's the best move count for "normal" completion, no whistle, on that level?

(without building any structures and kicking it to the top) I build normally in 26 moves! There aren't time flies in tis level.

I'm not sure how many times I tried but I have about 2 hours of footage on my pc. To be honest its quite easy (I'm comparing to the 10 hours of footage I have for weather vane), also you only need to get the bomb goo to stick to the top of the platform below the red goos.


I thought it was quite a pretty solution to this level. As kopa said it can be quite annoying.

Fantastic work, LTumbleweed. Very clever hitting the sticky bombs. Haha, I never even got OCD on that level. And wow, Kopa. I just saw your throw compilation video. Great technique. As for you, Stickybomb, don't worry about mastering crazy stuff like kicking a 2 goo line. I can't even do that yet. Look for a level that inspires you. It worked for me. Good luck.

I did it same as you only I didn't use that last fuse goo. I took a albino goo and kicked the bridge as far as I can to the right (I also kicked the sleeping hanging line on the right side). Look at the goo above e in moves and you will understand everything.  ;D

Dose anyone know how is Cycl4mate? He did Upper Shaft in 5 moves! I don't think it is possible!  ??? ::) >:(

Well, first point is that i'm not part of the forums yet! (hence my amount of posts, lulz)

Regurgitation pumping station 8, I built 4 goos in the water immediately after the level started, disconnected the 2 middle ones before they started crawling over and threw the line up (threw up... how ironical). Didn't make it a triangle, that's 6 moves and one balloon so 8 8) Anyway I got 3 now yeah, awesome strat.

Oh about my tower :o What's wrong with trying to get a higher spire, but failing and being forced to reset a tumbled tower  ::)

Well, that is VERY LUCKY!!  I took me about 200 or more times to get 19 goos. dwerdwer, how made that start, also repeated it about 200
times, so you were very lucky to times.

You did it all in 70 hours. hmmm ??? Kamal, who is legend in building towers spend about 100 hours perfecting his skill, and rest of us from most goos, least moves, least time charts played more the 300 hours each to get our scores. You did it all in 70?? ???

and small divide 20 goos, 6 moves? Only that level requires 30 hours to get that score.

EDIT 2: Tower of Goo 86 goos - 19 moves! HAHAHA :D ;D If you used 19 moves that means you have to have 89 goos! Please don't say that in one try you got 86 goos and in second you got 19 moves but you didn't want to wait for all goos to come up and you continued when 25 of them got sucked.

Note about the play time: I had a pirated version (:-[) which I played for 30 hours, But got enchanted by the game so much I just HAD to buy it. that makes for 100 hours... Umm, All I can say is that i'm a quick learner and an epic lucker then.
No actually, there is more, I did not have to find out the technuiqes, how to build long struds in the tower, how to throw structures, It had been done and documented before me. I just had to watch and apply it. Thinking of new ways to implement it where I had not yet seen or heard of the strat (Also, figuring the strat by seeing some one else's score is a lot easier)

the somewhere place in Upper Shaft, build 3 goos on the green structure at the start in US: between the top two, then between the middle and the new and then between the two new. Deconstruct one dropping the bomb (after igniting with a thrown goo ofc) then deconstruct another one to let a one strud piece fall way down, you know the rest. :D

No. You first upload the image on some site. For example: http://img13.imageshack.us  and the just put the new URL between (img)  and  (/img).  ;)

Also if you want to edit the videos I can recommend virtualdub its a great program for simple edits of avi files.

The only "error" I got was... "You need the codec".... after that it ran fine!

I installed codec too, and then as I started the program I got some error message saying something like "4dxm($f is difrent blah blah blah KJ%*)59J and blah blah blah..."  and now it seams it is one time error and I can't read it again.

No mater what I do it records 0.00sec. I really want to use this recorder  because it it can input audio from speakers.

Yeah its not too hard, I kinda assumed the reason it hadn't been done before is everyone had just moved on from the level. I still think its my best piece of goo throwing though.

Did you guys miss me? I got a new record! Welcoming Unit in 0 moves!

I took the greens and chucked them at the floating processed goo repeatedly to try to get them under the whole structure and up through the disposal hole. Once I got about 6 through I used greens to kick up the structure with a balloon on it and left it at the pipe. I then continued the process, periodically using a balloon to knock any processed goo I had in the final area up onto the structure to get sucked in. Yes, this process took as long as it sounds. The time on my picture attests to that. Did my description make sense? If not I'll do my best to clarify. Anyway, I'm excited! I got another record! And LTumbleweed, that Small Divide run was seriously impressive. Well done.

Yeah, I had the same thought. I wasn't sure it would be possible either. I was about to give up when I looked over and saw one processed goo connected to that final structure. After that I just had to do it. And thank you for your praise. That's always appreciated.

First save 8 goos, put them on the right island. Through all others. Use a balloon (or 9th goo) to kick the structure to the spikes. Great job with both of those, Pavke. Yeah, I was surprised Ivy Towers was possible too. And especially impressive on Horizontal Transportation Innovation Committee! Well, I too thought it is the limit in that level, but after seeing DEFE beating it on Wii ( in Wii you can't cheat :) ), I tried it myself. It isn't so hard (well it is, but not too hard), you just have to kick it 6-7 time quickly in a row and that is it.

And HTIC in 0 move is really simple, only requires little bit of luck getting the line clear of the black goos and spikes. ;)

That's perfectly fine. I expected you to do that anyway. His is higher quality, so it's preferable.

I think I figure it out but how is that not so hard as Kopa said? To me it is very hard.

Here is my idea:

You put 27 goos in to the pipe. That means 2 grey goo are left. You use these goos to build a line at the fuse line below the bomb.
Then you took one fuse goo, went down to the fire and throw it up and lighted the fuse.
Then you quickly took another fuse goo, went above the bomb and kick it very hard. From the kick the ivy line that holds the bomb snapped and the lighted bomb and grey goo line started to fall down together.
Bomb exploded just above the walls leaving you just a little time to kick the grey goo line to the pipe.

I'm I right? Probably not. :D

First practice kicking the bomb. You have to do it from your first try and fast! ;)

And sorry DEFE for beating your score so quickly  :-[

I practiced. The fastest I could get is in 2 throws, but I have to wait the bomb to be at its higher point to throw the second goo. I managed to do it once only with the bomb in fire but I wasn't fast enough. If I could burn the bottom fuse goo then detach the bomb in 2 throws, I would get it.

But it's boring.

Goodness, I see you guys have been busy. Ha, and here I was so sure I had found the minimum. Yeah, I wasn't trying to confuse anyone (Pavke) by not putting 2 of the grey goo in the pipe. That actually happened because I was just carelessly tossing them at the pipe at the end and 2 missed. After that I started being more careful. Well good job you guys! I might see if I can figure out the 0 move strategy later. And no hard feelings about breaking my record so quickly. Records are made to be broken. Keep up the good work!

Edit: I think I get it now. Ha, very clever. And I agree with Kopa on the boring part. I got really bored trying to do 2 moves last night. I couldn't get the dang thing to light on fire. I finally decided that if my last goo didn't light it I was going to bed. Well, it lit it.

Of course, it's just how I saw it at the moment :)    I didn't see the sticky anchor at the pipe so I went in totally different direction. And when I saw the anchor in Kopas screenshot i knew how you did it and a moment later it came to me 0 move solution.

Wow, Server Farm was unpredictable. It's good to see we can always find new strat. When I saw 8 moves, I thought we can save one more goo on that level, then I find out the strat. :D

I also think 31 is possible in blustery day, have done for a while now. The way I saw it was to build through the windmill and kill the top goo on the right hand side (Using the blade). Its difficult to get it though they wont stay still.

1 move is possible. I gave the instructions for that on pg. 6. As for the bug you encountered, that's crazy. I've never seen something like that happen.

Ah, you're right. I was actually using your strat (except for the ivys at the end, was trying with balloons, but it kinda sucked). I just somehow thought 2 was still the current min. :)

I'm 100% sure it is impossible. Tried it many times some time ago. The structure is very unstable, to make it stable I put a goo below the server platform and the then I built to the pipe witch used 9 goos as regular start.

As LTumbleweed correctly pointed out over at max goo, this is also a moves record. :D

What do you mean by "off screen" in Beauty School? Once the block is falling, it is destroyed (detatched) by the two wheels. Only free balls collide with structure. Structure does not, so the block will just fall through the line.
Then you use the wheels to detach the two Ivies by hitting Beauty hard enough. No move.
PS: It was more like 9 minutes for me.

By "Offscreen", I mean it wasn't on my display when it happened, so I didn't see it -- only the after results.

And yes, I thought that the structure would hit the line and stop. I didn't realize that only loose balls stop at the line. That's ... an insight for use in some levels.

Although, with hind sight, I've seen towers fall through other towers, so it should have been obvious.

I just tried to do ob station in 7 moves (I did) and I thought I would try six. The telescope does fly up ut I don't think it will pull out the island. I then tried hitting the island with a fish and this happened it was like a plug hole everything sank lol.

It's the same as nine, except I'm sure you have noticed you can activate the pipe with eight but it doesn't hold. Basically you can hit the structure up and it will reactivate the pipe. Typically a beauty goo wont go in so you have to hit the structure again quickly and the second time it will, as its closer. Not too difficult.

Regurgitation Pumping station can be done in 0 moves.Did you guys try to kick the common goo line,instead of ivy line,and kicking goo line up without using baloons migth be possible!

We tried that, it's impossible. The END of the level is to high. Maybe with the SUPER KICK that no one has ever done we could, but I doubt it ;)

Hi,

I spoke to Kopa about this a long time ago and the conclusion was its probably not possible. In order to trigger the cutscene the structure needs to travel over a certain y value. If you open the level up in the WOG editor found at goofans.com its quite a distance.

This initself isnt the real problem but rather the camera system. Basically the scrollable area stops at approx half that distance so you would need to generate a great deal of upward speed in order to cross this y value which I can't see anyone doing based on tower of goo 103 (Too much energy is required).

Edit: Bah Pavke beat me to it :)

My answer is less scientific :). Actually, when I first got 2 moves I was experimenting with this. After some tries I have kick the ivy goo line to the END. even tho it take 6 moves to make the ivy line (and much more with the balloons to get it right position) it's possible to kick the IVY line but not common. :)

I fought of that,but i did'nt fought the trigger was so high...

By the way,there are 2 ways to solve it with 2 moves...Wonder if somebody figured out the 2nd way...I'm not telling it! :-X

I don't know what is your second way of completing this level in two moves but this sentence gave me an wonderful idea. Maybe it possible to compleat it in 0 moves. :)

At last! A new record. GrapeVineVirus 19 moves. Thanks to DaftasBrush for showing his cool trick. In combination with my cool trick we get 19 moves :)

that last goo doesn't need to got to the middle box. this is my 14th move.
wait for the goo to go from lower right to upper left box corner(or the other way around) and catch it in the middle.
it will connect if you shoot it from here.

That's EXACTLY what I thought it was, but I've tried and tried shooting from the top line, top corners... but never quite got enough height! So I it seemed impossible.

I never thought to shoot from lower down...  ???  8)

My other 'cool trick' isn't really 'cool' and will be a 1 in a million / thousand run...
Every now and again... right at the start .. a Goo jumps off the bottom box into the water by itself...
Get everything else right on that start and save 1 more move!
So "POSSIBLE"... but not "LIKELY"  ;)

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking! The goo doesn't actually jump of the box. If you see in WoG Editor, goos are placed above the box, so when the level start they come down and bump each other, and one falls the red virus water. It happened to me 3 times. If you see back in this thread I already mentioned this :). It incredible how we think alike. :) :D  :o

BTW, My move got me 20 moves record so when I saw you different tactics it was easy to repeat both, sorry again for breaking the record so quickly

Lol when I saw the 19 moves pictures I thought you got the extremly rare beginning but not. Great job. I don't think someone ever get the 18 moves (except from new strat) without editing the level.  ;D

I've been trying EXACTLY the same thing!  ;)

No luck yet, I'm trying to find out if using BIG Goos or Little Goos helps... shooting or attaching.
Also, sometimes a red link is a bit longer or a bit shorter, trying to find a way to always make it bit longer...

Also trying shooting from box #1 to box #3.... it's close.. but maybe not possible.
I can get enough height.. sometimes it even wakes the box #3 Goos, but I haven't got enough angle... and the goo falls on the cog, rather than jumping to the box. Still trying on that too!

Have you tried midair collision?(lol "pilots" in midair collision) What that means is you shot the pilot from box #1 and when the pilot gets to his highest position you shot one more from the box #2 aiming at the first pilot so that they collied and jump to the box #3.
It has a little chance. If I remember correctly midair collision happened to me when I was playing for time or moves but I can't remember if I got both goos to land on the box #3, one definitely did.

I don't think both goos will go to box #3 (Physics)
BUT.. Maybe you can get 1 up to Box #3 and the other falls to box #2... VERY HARD!

I think waiting for the "RARE start" will be less tries!  ;)

I just watched some old Drool 30 vid and thought by myself that 3 moves should be possible without much hassle. So, after a few tries, here it is...

After many hours of thinking, I still can figure out how you did it? One thing id for sure, you did use the spike edge to kill one go, right?
