Sports magazines usually write not about newly announced features in the iPhone. But if you get thrust into a premiere, it is different. Sports Illustrated has the first official pictures' with an iPhone 7 made Plus. The photos must show that the camera of this handset is greatly improved.

Update September 14 : The iPhone 7 as the ideal camera for your outdoor adventures? The outdoor sports magazine Outside went with the iPhone 7 camera out to capture the nature while mountain biking. The pictures you see also later in this article.

The photos were taken by Sports Illustrated photographer David E. Klutho and show images of the NFL game between the Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings. Klutho picked a perfect day to take pictures: a sunny court with sufficient light. The photographer got an iPhone 7 Plus with dual 12-megapixel lens and 2x optical zoom in the hands of Apple, to the pictures. Tim Cook drew in a tweet attention to the photo series.

It happens often that Apple media or fashion companies give the scoop to 'advertising' for new iPhone features. Earlier this happened for example already at the filming of a Burberry fashion show and the iPhone 5s.

If you look at the photo series you have to admit: it looks all sharp and crisp, though you do not ask yourself whether Klutho similar pictures also can could do with the camera of a previous iPhone. What is absent in the photo series are examples of photos that were taken in less than ideal lighting conditions. There are no visible portraits, which blurs the background. Incidentally, this is a feature that later will be available through a software update, but where Klutho as guinea pigs, however could have used a beta version. The new portrait function ensures that recognize the two cameras faces in the foreground and the background is less sharp.

Convince the photos?
The smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 7 lacks the dual camera function and dual optical zoom, but you have a much improved 12-megapixel camera that you can also make beautiful sports photos. In our late this photo series do not yet see the real strengths of the dual camera. What do you think?
