Unplayably slow

So I got the game free from Epic, and it took an hour just to get to the main menu. It takes over thirty seconds just to register mouse movement. I tried restarting, verifying the install, reinstalling the game, installing it on a different drive, I even reinstalled the Epic launcher and the game... nothing helps. All my other games run fine, including other Epic games. Anyone have any ideas?
My specs:
Win10 64-bit
PCU: Intel i7 860 @ 2.80GHz
Ram: 16.0 GB DDR3 @ 666 MHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 (2GB GDDR5)
HDD space: well over 200 GB on either drive
DirectX v12.0
I seem to have this same problem. While it's not slow, it does pause for 1-2 seconds with only 1 second of interactivity between.
I've uninstalled, reinstalled, even downloaded my own copy I paid $20 for in 2009 that have used multiple times with no issues, same thing happened.
I have this same issue, I don't know why it's happening.
Did you two also get the game from Epic?

EDIT: It now also just crashes on launch.
Has anyone been able to fix this?
I just got an update for it and it is fixed
