I collected 57 its easy if you stick the bomb as close as you can to the fire. You also have to bring the three strand to the edge to detach one of the three then bring it back to the pipe!

I was left with only a two goo line at the pipe. No more to be collected. In view of comments, I must have lost two goos somewhere along the way. I thought I was carefull!

momo1526, there are only 57 collectible balls in the level. I did not waste any and detached the last one with the detaching block.
I always threw the bomb up through the fire to ignite it.
Apart from that, I don't know which 3-strand you're talking about and what you mean with sticking the bomb as close as possible to the fire.
Edit: Oh, now I know which 3-strand you mean. I used a strand of fuse balls instead.
