Release: World of Goo Portable

I have created a World of Goo Portable launcher that automatically copies profiles between the host computer and a USB drive. I have tested it and it seems to work pretty well.

Features:

  • Automatic profile copying
  • Support for both the demo and the full version of World of Goo
  • Preservation of local profile if it exists
  • One-click profile transfer between WoG Portable, local WoG full version, and local WoG demo version
  • Convenient links to Goo related websites

    I have made a page for it on GooFans, but I need to have it uploaded by a mod.

    But do you think you could get it to work with gootool.
    Edit: I see you are trying to do that. When do you think it will be done.

    I'll probably be working on the launcher again this weekend. However, I don't have a definite release date for it yet.

    Well, I've got GooTool support built into the launcher now. Look for version 0.2 on the download page soon (I've already sent the upload request to davidc. It'll just need to be uploaded by him now.)

    I don't know if you saw it already, but you can specify a command line option to GooTool to make it store its preferences in a file instead of the registry: http://goofans.com/forum/gootool/suggestions-and-bug-reports/433

    A new version of World of Goo Portable is now released. It includes several enhancements, and a fix to a moderate bug. It's highly recommended that existing users update, especially for the fix. There's also a note on the download page.

    Update: Source code has also been uploaded.
