eVERY 2 MIN.S, DESKTOP!!! IT MAKES IT HARD TO PLAY. THE DEMO NEVER DID THIS! 
And that bird chirping noise it keeps making is starting to get annoying.
While I don't know about your former complaint, there is an answer to the latter.
You are most likely just accidentially using the whistle. The whistle is activated and deactivated by clicking. Here are two suggestions:
A) Turn down your computer volume to 0 (or mute it).
B) Just make sure that you're clicking on a goo-ball that's walking around or a detachhable goo-ball instead of on empty bars or non-removable goo-balls.
I know those tips sound pretty amateur, and they are, but if the shoe fits, wear it!

Problem solved!
Even easier, just find the sound files that play the chirp sounds and delete/rename them.
