Hi I'm just getting back into WoG and want to play through the game again. My only problem is I can start the game but right when it gets to the 2D Boy Logo my computer freezes and I get a BSOD. Here's what I've tried:

- Bought on Steam so I verified the cache files and still BSOD
- Installed Version 1.30 patch
- Uninstalled WoG and removed all references to it
- Rebooted my computer
- Reinstalled WoG
- Rebooted my computer
- Still BSOD in the same spot

I'm not sure what else I can do to fix this BSOD. Here's some details about my setup:

Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, completely up to date
BFG Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS OC with 266.58 Drivers
Sound Blaster Audigy 1 with latest drivers
Pentium D 3.0 Ghz CPU
Foxconn Motherboard
Up to date DirectX 9.0C

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well, an application can't cause a BSOD, only kernel-mode code, so my first thought would be to try different (perhaps older) versions of your video and sound drivers.

My computer does the same thing with 2 other applications, it's because of a bug in the Nvidia graphics drivers.

Another Planet finally has an official release! Download chapters 1 through 3 here! Thank you for waiting so long while I kept starting over.

Yeah you guys were both spot on. Thanks for the suggestions Albino and davidc. It was the drivers. Seems I'm not the only one and this isn't the only game having trouble with the 266.58 drivers from Nvidia. I've rolled back to 260.99 and haven't had any trouble with World of Goo! Thanks!
