I am trying to clone a level in WOG editor. I am 7 years old and would like to learn to make levels. Having trouble getting WOG Level Editor to work. Any help is appreciated.

Hi this is Deseptors mom. I saw the reply. Thanks. We are on Windows 8 I believe. I am trying to get the Level Editor to work because Deseptor is trying to learn. I have installed the Game, Goo Tool and Level Editor. I am not sure why it says change directory. Seems It wants a file not a folder. Deseptor has gotten the Level Editor to work, but he cannot save anything or play anything he creates. Cannot clone a file either.
Do you or anyone know of some written out instructions or a way of Deseptor (me the mom) getting some help? GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Deseptor has been playing WOG since he was 4yrs old.

It seems impressive that he's played World of Goo since he was 4.

Anyway, have you tried duplicating the world of goo folder?
If I'm right, you should find it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\WorldOfGoo
Copy it to your desktop, and change your World of Goo directory to that. It should work. Also, if it wants a file, select the World of Goo app.

Did you press continue?

If you click end level and OCD, the level should crash.

I'm not sure. Do you know where the level folder is? You can find it in res/levels/x, where x is the name of your level.

Yes we have the folder. My level does not work after 3 or 4 times WOG level editor. Then it crashed and will not move past the title screen. The box with the fatal error appears. If I make a new level, should I NOT click continue? Should I save and play from WOG level editor? OR just save it and try it in the Goo Tool?

***please note, Deseptor is only 7 yrs old. I am his MOM. Im trying to understand this to get a solution for the crash. Deseptor has only made one level and will probably make more. I myself do not understand all the programming stuff but I type faster than him and ask the questions he tells me to ask. THANK you for your time.

To answer some of your questions, I'd recommend using the save and play, as it's convenient to use.

Other than that, when you save and play the level from the WoG editor, can you play the level?

Hi, he used save and play 3 times before the crash. then opening the level in WoG editor would not play. it crashed. tried loading it into WoG Tool and it also crashed.
I believe it is not going to work. Maybe I can talk Deseptor into trying fresh.... although he spent 2 days making this level.... practice makes perfect? is it me or is the software old?

I'd compress the folder, upload it to something like google drive or media fire, and put the link here.

One quick question: What's a deseptor

Deceptor is the user name of the child (7yrs) old who is actually doing the creating. I am his actual mother who is trying to help him figure this stuff out. I am not really interested in this game creation, but he is really into it. He picked that name Deceptor. He is having problems creating levels and I try to help as much as I can. I dont understand most of it. I am encouraging him to do this because he loves this game and has been playing since he was like 4 yrs old. Try turning the level into a goomod first. If that doesn't work, then upload the level folder to google drive and I'll see what I can do with it.

I've messed with the level, and the issue seems to be that you've put goo balls outside the lines of the level. Put all the Ivies outside of the level into it and it should work. If you're still confused, I can send you what I've done to the level.
