I purchased world of goo on steam. Is there a way to get it running on Ubuntu without repurchasing it. I would prefer to run it natively than through wine.

Hi, BennyBolton!
*deletes duplicate forum topic*
Yes, indeed there is. Download and install the World of Goo demo for Linux, then find your Steam install of World of Goo (should be in Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/WorldOfGoo or someplace like that), and copy the "res" subfolder over into your Linux demo install. It should work fine.

I downloaded and setup the demo and that works fine
when i copied the res folder over (renaming old one to res.bak) i have trouble launching
no movie plays and then i have main menu with sound but when i hover over level button i crashes
im using ArchLinux with MATE
my log file:
Edit: I merged the folders (overwriting steam files) and it seems to be running. I will continue "testing" and update if it works
Steam will likely complain or overwrite the files if you run Steam with the Linux demo files in there, in case you didn't know that already.

i have it running now. With merging the folders it still thought it was a demo so i just deleted the levels folder and copied it from the steam version.
