A sample of Chapter 3 from Another Planet.
Glowing Goo!
Feel free to use it in your mods, but give me credit as a co-author.
Technical details: it's using an additive shadow with a cool texture on it. This means it lights up walls, spikes, the "this-way-to-the-pipe-bouncing-arrow", et cetera.

YAY someone finally uses the whole song!
Just a couple suggestions: The additive shadows make the square outline of the glowing Goo Balls obvious. I've seen this before in the real game, too, and it's annoying. Just making the alpha around the edges fade out isn't enough; you have to change the color to black, then fade the alpha out, since the adding-alpha "shadow" causes the color of the pixels to still show. And the blue Goo Balls have no use, except for getting sucked into the pipe at the end, so you shouldn't be able to select/drag them.
Other than that, very cool.

Hey, I'm back
Just decided that I hadn't played WoG in ages, and decided to move it to my mac. Installed this map, and it's pretty good. I like how you can light up stuff with the goos, but don't like the visual box effect (like MOM4Evr said). Maybe you could shrink the lightstreaks so that they don't reach the square image border of the goo?
I'm playing Minecraft. My username is theMineMaster2. If you want to see my Cartoony mods updated, then be a Mac user and find a image editing program that isn't confusing for me

Taco, you mean AP not AB right? Sorry but I've been using one of your songs... I didn't know that it's your's!!! Anyway I would like to get from you permission but how? I need to pay something? How? We can't really contact each other (You know)... I've used music in the Wiki-world's DEMO level but as far as I know any other musics are not good for that level... If you can check by yourself... Only I donnow how (I know it's don't know not donnow( I'm too lazy to write that...( I'm just messing about by writing - "donnow"

And AP, good job! I didn't know that you can make the goos, who can blow! These goos would be really good only... If you could make them be blowing a little bit more around... And, Taco... I think you just changed little bit the music of the original level - "MOM's computer" didn't you? Because it sounds like that... Basically... You just copied and change... Is thats right?

Don't ask Taco to share music or images, he won't.
He took the full song from Kyle's web site and trimmed it differently than it was done in the game. That's the same thing I did here.
I'm not really sure what you're asking about the Goo Balls blowing...do you mean glowing? If so, then yes, in Another Planet there's going to be a Mega Glow Goo that can light up about a fourth of a whole level, but can't be dragged around. It has to stay on strands.
Feel free to use the Albino Pokey picture, but it's kind of low quality in my profile. A higher quality one is in the screenshot of the Goo Ball Library, or in the Ancient Temple level.

Actually I've been talking about this level to make that glowing (Yes, I meant glowing) balls more to be glowing. I mean with that how they are glowing but the glownes is really small. So you could make them bee glowing much more around. But whatever.
I really need that music! So how can I get it?! I can try to pay for it!

Go to http://kylegabler.com/WorldOfGooSoundtrack/ , download the song, and make your own edit of it.
For a sound editor, I'd recommend Audacity. But whatever program you use is up to you.

The song I trimmed is called "Rain Rain Windy Windy". The trimmed file is called res/music/DeepUnderground.ogg, if you don't want to edit it yourself.

Certainly! Feel free to copy the /res/balls/glow/ folder from this mod and use it if you want.
These Goo Balls use a feature that was only used once in the original game: instead of subtracting the shadow image from the stuff behind it, you can make it add instead. So instead of darkening it, it makes it lighter. Try it in Red Carpet: if you hold the Albino Goo Balls against a dark wall, there's a tiny glow around them.
So for these Goo balls, I just drew a glow image fading out to nothing at the edges, set it as the shadow, and made it add. Then any images behind it, eg the walls, would glow with that image.

Wherever you want darkness, add a black background and black walls. Everywhere else, normal images.

I just used pure black, with the usefulblacksquare image. You could also set the color on them to 0 0 0, a la Beauty and the Tentacle.

I have been away, but I'm back for the rest of the summer now.
Unfortunately, you can't do that. The shadow can't change. Using the "old method" (which has the opposite effect - it glows when nothing is in the way) you can, but it looks really ugly.

Look at the one in the top left of the scrrenshot.
The additional glow when attached is a
