Yep. Since the goofans server uses bukkit plugins, however, you'll have to wait for the next bukkit update.

Beta 1.5 is really awesome. No more minecart boosters! And right after we got the ones in the pipe working!

Anyway, it's ALWAYS a good idea to save the jar. I have copies of it going back to Alpha. If you need the jar, I can post it, but it's illegal and I'd rather not.

@AP: Another thing, I use SPC with Single Player (which I play when I can't connect to multiplayer). Never mind posting... I remember now I had backed up minecraft.jar before installing SPC, and that's 1.4_01 version. I'll use that for now.

@MOM4Evr: What's bukkit? Server wrapper?

By the way, are mods allowed to /give blocks like Web and Sponge that are uncraftable but usable? Or can we 'trade' stuff for them (by destroying it and getting the new block)?

bukkit is a plugin that allows for certain things, like compass teleporting, /give ing items, etc.
I don't think /give ing is allowed for anything but extenuating circumstances.

But it's impossible to get those items otherwise. The idea would be we make a "crafting recipe" such as 2 string -> 1 web. Then the moderator uses /item web and trades the web for the string. Then they throw the string into lava, destroying it. That way you didn't get something for nothing, it was "crafted".

@MOM4Evr: Oh. Hmm... there's a /give in SPC... I can try it there.

/give is in the vanilla server, but only gives the item to the op who uses the command.

By the way, what happens when one of you moderators uses /say? I don't really understand how it's different from just using the chatbox.

No idea. I've never used /say.
I use /irc if I want to say something so the IRC channel can see it, if that's what you mean.

According to the wiki, /say "broadcasts something to chat so that other players can see it."

So far as I can see... /say (on our server) does... nothing.
It doesn't show the message... it acts like any other unrecognised command.

Weird.

And now yet another question! What does the server say when someone dies? I know some of them (for example, anarchy.gleany.net) have several different messages depending on how they died. ("Notch tried to swim up a lavafall!" "Notch got stabbed with a golden sword!" et cetera)
