Bought on Steam, but want to play on LINUX

Folks,

I have bought the STEAM version of World of Goo. But, I have a netbook running Ubuntu Netbook Version. I want to give it a try... but... how can I have the game out-of-STEAM, without having to buy it again?

On the FAQ's there is only the other way around (out-of-steam to steam).

Thank you!

You ought to be able to download the demo from 2DBoy.com and copy the res folder over (overriding the stuff in the demo's res folder with the stuff from the Windows version's res folder). The Steam version just installs the files like a normal install, but in a different folder, right? I'm not 100% sure how the Steam version is set up, I could be mistaken here...

The steam executable has a few DRM's in it too, but that won't matter if you transfer it like this.

Another Planet finally has an official release! Download chapters 1 through 3 here! Thank you for waiting so long while I kept starting over.

That's the only diff? Sweet.
