This is an idea that I had recently. There will be a long line of these things, which you need to activate one by one.
Then you need to slide underneath.
Hopefully you activated them into a good patten for this.

Nice idea.
You can make the crushers moving up slowly and crushing down to the ground when it reaches the ceiling.
Here is a small vid showing how it can be done:

Awesome! A cam wheel? I should try that instead, it will make a better level.

The falling wheel - this is what I wanted to make for one level - can I use this idea? And how much speed dod you write for the stick to rotate?

You should look at this for that kind of mechanism. Unfortunately it won't work in my level because it relies on collision, and the mechanisms need to overlap for my design to work out.

Wait, do you mean it isn't working because your crushers are right next of each other and therefore the cam wheels would collide with each other?
The cam wheels dont't have to be on top of each crusher. It really doesn't matter where they are. You just have to set two hinges at the crusher and the moving part of the cam wheel. Small tip: in your example the rectangle "arm1b" isn't necessary.
edit: Wiki, In don't remember what rotationalspeed it had. Just try some values and check if it's moving with the desired speed.

Oh, of course. Let me remove that. I keep thinking that this needs to work like a real system somehow, that the hinges need to be within the geometry.

I just tried!!!! Something is wrong! The mechanism does not fall down and also the top bar that get pushed up by the rotating part starts rotating
Because writing signatures is too mainstream

nothingoo,
do you see the blue rectangle in the background of the mechanism, that's a forcefield pushing it down. Use a composite geometry instead of single rectangles, this will make the rectangles stick together as they were one.
Use high mass values for the mechanism.
