I have a dell optiplex gx620 ultra small form factor running windows xp service pack 3. I installed the game and when I run the game nothing shows. I've tried re-installing it, and I've tried running it so many times. If I run it a box appears but dissapears before anything is seen except I do see error. But nothing else shows. How do I get it to work on my desktop? It works great on my laptop (an old one), but I need it on my desktop
So I installed windows 7 on the same desktop and this time the windows appears and it says fatal error: Exception: Access Violation (code 0xc0000005) at address 004B3D4A in thread 79C

How do I fix this?
I would suggest re-installing the game. Do you still have a copy of the game? Do you have it on steam?

Hey momo do you know what is that error of" access violation: stalkwalk" means?i just dont understand it.
Hey You!
Start the fun and Install the fan made CHAPTER 6: MOON OF GOO
I tried to re-install it. I tried steam and it worked. But it only works on windows 7. I tried the same thing on xp and it still failed...
I had that problem with a faulty addin (that I had made), and a faulty pers.dat so it could be anything!!!
Where is the game installed? Oh, and I have XP and the game works fine!!!

I installed it on my desktop, and same as steam, then I add world of goo to steam and it works on windows 7. On xp or windows 7 the game wont load by itself (only on this desktop this happens, my other desktop it works great) and on xp it wont even load with steam. I don't have a very good desktop. I got it used for $171 so a lot of games dont work on this dell desktop.
Surprisingly after I tried it on xp it never worked. So I then re-installed windows 7 and now it doesn't work. I wanted the hard drive split so I can run either windows 7 or linux but last night it worked when the hard drive wasn't split. Don't know how that makes a difference, but right now the games not working. (edit: I formatted my hard drive to have one partition and now it works on windows 7... Strange...)
@G0o-gle: the "stackwalk" error is caused by all kinds of problems. Basically, if World of Goo crashes, it spits out a stackwalk error. Because of this, it doesn't really MEAN anything, except that the game crashed.
@jeffreylb94: Just throwing out a possibility: could it be a driver error or something, like the drivers in Windows XP weren't working properly? Just a thought...
As momo said, it could really be anything, unfortunately. I can't remember; does anyone know if the Windows version of World of Goo has a logfile anyplace? I know the Linux version does. Your problem sounds like a profile error, but it's strange that it was persisting like that. I dunno. Does steam pass along any command-line parameters? I think that it's strange that it would work out of Steam but not when launched directly.
Did you install the latest patch? It may help clear it up; it's worth a shot anyhow: http://www.worldofgoo.com/dl2.php?lk=patch

I would also advise you to patch. I think that the fact of formatting the Hard Drive removed the error( that were stopping wog from running.
