I put on my I'm-a-big-jerk face when I'm walloftexting, and a lot of times I can be sort of grating when I'm busy trying to think about everything having to do with a topic, so I feel like I know everything there is to know about the topic. 2. Yeah, I think what we want is people testing around and trying rather than being scared of new mod options. There is no risk in people trying things out, I think we all sort of started through trial and error, and to me, no failure is worth nothing. I might tweak it if I find the time.

1. puggsoy's example chapter wasn't really a tutorial, more like a sample. I based mine off his, and said so.
2. A very good point. That's how I learned about goomodding as well. I guess my concern is that some people get frustrated when the smallest of errors pop up, rather than trying again. And they can't accurately describe the problem they're having, which is annoying to say the least.
But you're right. This isn't an excuse for me to be overly cynical, and I apologize. The next few weeks of my life are going to be quite hectic, but maybe a rewrite is in order.

Sorry, but there's no "really easy" way to do it. Making chapters is hard.
For now you might want to try making a level addin, to familiarize yourself with the process. Have you installed WooGLE and GooTool?

I do have World of Goo level editor and gootool. But thanks anyway, now I want to know how I can see the number of gooballs I collected from each of my levels, so can anyone tell me how I can see the number of gooballs I collected?

The easiest way would be to just load your profile up in GooTool. Look at the box on the left side, it should list stats for each level.

Okay. Look under %LOCALAPPDATA% (you can type that in the Run... dialog, or it should point to something like C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Username]\Local Settings\Application Data\) for the folder called 2DBoy, then a folder inside that called WorldOfGoo. The file is called pers2.dat.

Just make a PNG file in your image editor of choice and put it somewhere under your WorldOfGoo/res folder. Then browse to it in WooGLE.

An image editor is a program to edit images. You might try GIMP or Paint.NET.
A PNG file is a way to store images. You can create one using the Save As... command in an image editor.

Thanks Albino, I was using GIMP, and I could make drawings or paintings or even cliffs as the images in GIMP, it's really nice. But there is one more thing I'm concerned about, how do you change the color of a gooball? Because I'm seeing custom gooballs all over the place.

I'll explain, but you should probably create a new forum topic for this. Go to the bottom left of the main page and click "More" next to the Forum Topics box. Then there should be a Create New Thread button at the top.

At long last, the video tutorial for how to make a chapter in World of Goo is at last complete! Hopefully this will help people figure out how to make a chapter. It's split into three parts. Part 1 shows how to make the map. Part 2 shows how to create the XSL worksheet, text resources document, and what to edit in addin.xml. Part 3 shows where to put custom images, balls, etc at in your chapter, how to decrypt all of your chapter's files, and putting things together to be ready to upload it to Goofans. It's not a perfect tutorial, since it's my first one, but I did the best I could.
