For the promotion of the new 1.1 goomod format! Here it is!!! Far Lands is goomod!....
requirements: you need GooTool version 1.0.1 or later to play this mod!
Made by Hany, goomodded by Pavke and revised by thB (v1.0) and MOM4Evr (v1.1).
Changelog
v1.1:
- Fix: As per new GooTool spec, uppercase file extensions aren't supported. Changed res/levels/FarLands_L06/Pichliac04.PNG to .png
- Fix: Removed spaces in filename override/res/levels/FarLands_L05/Retaz a skull.png
- Tweak: Changed background PNG images to JPEG via thB's JPEG hack to cut down on file size
- Tweak: Changed override/res/levels/FarLands__L08/hmla.png to greyscale to cut down on file size (it's just white and alpha anyway)
- Tweak: removed unused images pichliac and pichliac2, and replaced picliac3 with pichliac4, which looks better anyway
- Tweak: removed FarLands_Ivy/body.png, as it was nearly identical to bodyAttached.png
v1.0:
- Fix: widescreen support for all levels (most levels crashed on widescreen)
- Fix: missing image now included
- Fix: removed all references to non-existent and/or unused resources
- Fix/Change: ball types are independent from original game
- Fix/Change: OCD on level 5 is more realistically achievable
- Add: original Far Lands music
- removed duplicate images saving over 4 MB total
- other small XML cleanups

NOTE 1: Due to custom images and music mod is 31MB large.
NOTE 2: For all those who are unable to install Far Lands goomod here is the original download. Just unzip it anywhere except your WoG folder and run Far_Lands.exe

To install the condensed version, just
- make a copy of any clean, unmodified WoG installation directory and
- extract the archive into the new directory

I get an error
"error in opening (filename):

do you know why this is? I am using the pc version, and I believe I am using version 1.0.1

**ATTENTION ALL MAC 10.6 (Snow Leopard) USERS!**
GooTool does not necessarially... work too well on the new OS. it crashes when installing a level to your Custom World Of Goo, and it will only use mods when you launch the game through GooTool, having to re-install them each tile. now, not that i am saying GooTool doesn't work, it's actually really useful. but, it just doesn't work with the new OS. like how some things stop working when upgrading to windows 7 from vista. this just happens to be one of those apps.

Really good set of levels. #1 is easy, introduction. #2 I struggled to make OCD (but did eventually). #5 I am 1 goo short of OCD (is it possible?), #8 I failed to OCD (I'm hopeless in timed levels). Rest got OCD comfortably.
I'm still working to up my collection total to the stand alone version. (#7 - 59, had 62 in earlier version).

divide it by 8 levels and it's 5MB per level (custom images, music, balls) and you'll see it's not so huge

The new naming system is better (and logical) BUT there is an irritation. The version 0.9 level names are still in profile. Can this be fixed?

Mh, didn't think of that...
Don't think this is possible without manually editing your profile.
Maybe a feature for removing level entries from a profile is a good idea for future GooTool versions. For example if you want to clean a profile up before publishing it.

New version levels 7 and 8 still don't work for me.
I figured out how to fix level 8, though.
Pop it up in WOG editor and there are a bunch of non-needed rectangles labeled "None." I deleted these and added a third vertex to the pipe and the level works fine now. I couldn't fix level 7, though, still crashed on me when I did the same thing as I did on level 8.

graphics are weird and creepy, I can't get the real version though, only the goomod one. Fix the real version link!

Okay, Little Path worked fine, just took a little while to load. It gave me an idea. I scaled the background image and the pyramid image in Far Lands level 7 to far smaller sizes, and the level worked fine. My guess is either my graphics card doesn't like the 5 MB of images for that level, or doesn't like the size of the background image, or my version of WOG places limits on either of these. Anyway, that level runs great now (and OCD is really easy!). If I'm the only one having this problem, don't bother fixing it, but someone else may easily have this problem as well.

I have encountered a similar problem with level 7, my PC would lock at the splash screen, even after waiting almost an hour (went off and did something else in that time). My specs are a little passe (Celeron 2.66GHz, 2GB RAM, 64MB Vid) but otherwise works well for Windows XP (SP3). All the previous levels (did not view level 8 yet) load within 10 seconds. By the way (to the developer), kudos on the levels so far.

Yep. Levels 7 and 8 crashed for me, too. Try scaling the images down (It'll look a little odd unless you pop open WOG editor and scale them up again) and it should work fine.

I try all the levels but Level 7 crashed on my computer and now I can't quit World of Goo. The other levels doesn't any have problems so as Level 8.

Ok, I'm going to try to work this out, but I have yet to find a PC where level 7/8 crashes.

I actually fixed these levels myself once (but after running GooTool again, overrode my fixes) and the only problem seemed to be the size of the images (the pyramid and the background in level 7 were really huge). Scaling the images down in an image-manipulation program like GIMP and then scaling them back up in WOG Editor solved the problem.
If all the images in one level are over a few megs, my computer seems to crash. (Levels 1-6 work fine, so try to get the other two levels' images down to the size of one of them).

Well, I wouldn't call reducing image size (and quality for that matter) fixing. But I had found another way of reducing image size some time ago. That's what I'd be trying first. If that doesn't work (e.g. if some memory limit actually cuts off max decompressed size per image), one would have to cut the existing images into pieces and modify the level to add new scene layers for the tiled new images.

Wow...everybody seems to have a problem with this mod...
I also have a problem, but the levels work fine. It's actually the "Update" of this mod. When I check for updates in gootool, it says there's an update for this from 0.9 to 1.0 but when I try updating, it says error with far lands...
Did this happen to anyone else?
