The new SLIDER Joint
Like a hinge, but restricts the connected bodies to motion along an axis.
In fact, I believe it is this type of joint that's used to make the Goo Strands. With the right settings, it should be possible to make it act like a spring, but as far as I've got with it it acts more like a sliding rail.
Here's what I "know" / suspect.
About the only "tricky" bit is getting your head around the histop and lostop.
When the level begins wherever the 2 bodies actually are in relation to each other, the engine considers this 0 distance.
histop is then the maximum distance they can move "further apart" along the axis from their starting pos
lostop is the maximum distance they can move "closer together" along the axis from their starting pos
The histop , lopstop reverse meaning if body2 is a negative distance along the axis from body1 when the level begins... you'll see! maybe...
The Test level i've been using to "play" with this thing... is above
Slider will be available for widespread experimentation in the next version of WooGLE..
Till then...Have fun!

Found the word "slider" in the exe near to hinge and motor....
Started guessing attribute names and types and "experimenting"....
Got this far.

Since this is in "Debug" mode, the World map gets in debug mode after you play this level! WEIRD!

Could you add some sort of graphical representation of the slider (eg, a red line) in the editor?
Another Planet finally has an official release! Download chapters 1 through 3 here! Thank you for waiting so long while I kept starting over.

It will be great to see the slider (e.g. as a yellow line, because it's like hinge!)...
But do we realy know what it is? Two last parameters are useless, or it's realy hard to see how do they work...
PS. I'm near to create first real level using this feature!

1) I have faith in DaB, and believe he was working on/thought of a graphical representation for sliders, even before AP asked.
2) it's a slider and bounce works just like he said.

@Goosweek
Yup planning some sort of visual, but I need to investigate it a bit more so it can give a "meaningful" visual for all situations...
And stopcfm and stoperp... I just guessed they might be there, because they are on hinges, but I don't know for sure... if we find they don't do anything, they'll be removed.

Do you know what are stopcfm and stoperp for hinge?

There's stuff about stopcfm and stoperp ... Section 7.5.1
Once you've read it you know as much as me!
They seem to control the "springyness / squashiness" of the end stops.
Whatever defaults 2DBoy have set gives you the "bouncy" HangLow platforms.
Have experimented a bit, and stopcfm only seems to have "noticable" effects in a very low range like 0.0001 -> 0.1
But that was just some quick tests I did, there maybe interaction with stoperp... needs substantial "investigation" / "messing about with"
