Mine looks like...a mountain. At least from the outside. I hollowed out the whole thing down to bedrock. And found a cave system. Of doom.

Yeah mine is basically a mountain with a flat side. I carved a door in the middle, made steps, and hollowed out a home. I dug and found giant cave systems. I also dug upward and created a way to get to the roof (top) of the mountain from the inside, and discovered an infinite pool of water (infinite water source blocks).

I'm sure my house is better.

My original plan was just to make a house in the side of a mountain, but I ended up carving out a cavern. I also randomly made a waterfall in front of everything. It keeps out creepers. The inside includes two stairwells, one going up to the top of the mountain, the other going down to caverns where I've found 80 redstone, 100 iron, 3 gold, 6 lapis lazuli, and 8 daimonds. That was all naturally there. No digging. On top, I have a beacon that goes as high as cloud level, with fire as the light source. Near, I have a pond with sugarcanes, some farmland, and a pasture.

A few valleys over, I began to work on a town, but it's still in it's early stages.

I like water-door systems.

Cool beans. I won't upload a photo of mine yet... it's pretty small and lame. Haven't played for hours yet like you guys. Just had a good idea of what to do with it, though...

Cool, but 3 questions:

1) How did you get full diamond armor?!
2) Why iron doors?
3) What are those weird things on the torches? Texpack glitch?

@AP: 1) He mined . . .
2) They are only openable via mechanics, and they look better than wooden ones.
3) Those are the embers. You need fancy graphics to be turned on in order to see the fire animation.

Ah. I don't like iron doors because I keep locking myself out of my house.

So my house is in the upper left, with the library being directly below that lava, cool firepit outside... and notice my sweet strip mine for a front yard. Then I have my water tower (and lava tower), greenhouse with nothing in it, and off in the distance, a ton of sugar cane growing.

You also can see here my sweet burning forest. Burning forests are good for the economy. Seriously. My house is in this photo as well, but I've changed it a lot since I took this picture (the other photos are slightly more recent).

Nice. I decided to make a new world to try out SDK's gun mod (but the mod didn't work) and I found so many ores that I decided to move worlds. For some reason, I felt like building a ship, which is now also my home.

Hey, awesome. That all looks really sweet.

I don't really have much time for Minecraft, so I generally make strange stuff instead of big structures and stuff. Like building my house out of Netherrack so I could set it on fire (I had to compensate somehow, you know. All my burning forests burned down with the new update! ), or making my house's walls out of lava. I like seeing what other people can come up with, though!

Yeah, here's a nice custom map.

Really fun. Rules are simple: Don't leave the island and play on at least Normal. I'm doing version 1.0 for lack of wanting to mine reeds (v1.1 and 1.2 have reeds and clay underground somewhere)

There are bonus challenges (which are sort of the main challenges since keeping it on Normal is pretty easy) which are:
1. Build a two story house/base with at least 20+ windows.
2. Build 10 bookcases.
3. Build an automated cactus farm.
4. Build an under ground tree farm.
5. Build an above ground animal trap.
6. Build a drowning trap around the skeleton spawner.
7. Build a cart system.
8. Build something with redstone.
9. Gather 10 unused diamonds.
10. Find the treasure left behind by the Lost Curator.

I myself have 4 and 6 done. (the skellie spawner killed me many times in the process >.<)

Theres this really cool mod called: Minerals!
I personaly think its the best mod around.

It gives you: Ruby, Emerald, Hyperdaimond (!!!), Coldinite (Nether), Corundum (Nether), Darwood Trees (Nether, They grow on the roof!), Firestone, and tools outa Obsidian! and Bedrock!

Rubys' are quite cool. With the right mind, you can make different scrolls. yes SCROLLS!

but, the bad thing is, is you cant get more ores underground unless you:
1. start a new Minecraft account (A new world)
or
2. You venture to a new place, so that Minecraft has to generate new terrain. you catchin' my drift?

anyways, if this is call spamming, im sorry. But, im actually helping all Minecraft fans. THIS MOD IS AWESOME!

As cool as some mods are, I think I want to keep things original unless DavidC starts another server with mods enabled. We have been on this world and got a lot done, so we don't want to have to start over. And some might not recognize these new materials, so they won't know what to do with them when they get them. Mods can be complicated sometimes.
