I do like the slimes, but they're a bit buggy in SMP since they're not supposed to be there. We spawn them occasionally and they bump us around affectionately.

I had a Goo Ball statue in the previous minecraft world. At the moment we're working on building a giant tower of Ivy balls in 3D, it's harder than it sounds!

Yes, but glitchy/schizophrenic (interfere with physics for all players but only visible to one) in multiplayer.

and can you find dungeons on peaceful?

I think peaceful only affects mob spawning, so you should still find dungeons. Dunno for sure though, I only ever play SMP (so I've never even been to the nether!)

In SMP, when I spawned slimes, we could all see them, and the larger ones tried to damage us, but the smaller ones just bumped us around trying to knock us about. They were cute but I couldn't find a way to get rid of them (even with /butcher) - fortunately they vanished after a while when we all logged out.

you can kill slimes its just that they have LOTS AND LOTS of health!

Is that right? In SMP they didn't even turn red to indicate they have taken damage (as every other mob does), so I just assumed they were bugged since they weren't supposed to be spawned in SMP.

but there is no point in killing them because all you get from them is a slimeball (maybe) and this item is useless.......... for now anyway they will probaly change this though!

Oh, we didn't spawn them to kill them, but only because they're cute!

But yes, I believe the slime ball item will become part of a crafting recipe soon.

No, but coal is pretty much endless. Always find new caves and such for Coal and Iron. You might make a nice discovery in it, if it's deep enough! (DAAAIIMOOND! )

Slimes are awesome. Can moderators place a spawnblock?

And we should make a nether portal on the server. The Nether lets you get lava, bloodstone, slowsand, and australium!

Not sure... Is there nether support in a multiplayer server? I thought there wasn't.

There's support in Bukkit for nether, I just need to figure out how to turn it on.

I might get this when I'm bored of Goo.

The Nether CAN be used on a server, I'm not sure how, but it can be done.

bubblefish4: yes, but the nether (in standard Minecraft) is single-player only. Bukkit adds nether support to multiplayer, but we need a plugin to enable it.

Variation Brain Slimes are un-glitchy pink slimes that like to jump on your head. They're somewhere on the forums, but the only download link I have is for Beta 1.1_01

Wolves have not been implemented yet, but I heard someone called "Jeb" is working on something like that. Thus, you can't find wolves anywhere till it gets added.

Whoa I have not heard of wolves yet.

But anyway, the server is going great. I'm almost finished with a hotel for new players which offers complementary food and resources to players without trusted status (no power to edit blocks anywhere). James had a similar idea, but mine has more to offer (not trying to make enemies but I totally had the idea first). James' hotel is right next to the spawnpoint (made of cobblestone, looks like a castle) and offers free coal and logs to new players. Once mine is finished (located on the island specified with the above link) it will offer some food and additional recreational resources (such as arrows or sulfur).

In other news, MOM4Evr made a great tribute to MOM. We also finally finished a nice railway system (with boosters) that leads to three ideally located stations (main one in the center).

Well, mine was going to do all of that, actually. You seem to have a similar mind to the thing I started first. I just haven't quite finished yet, and yours is made of *burnable* wood. (*cough*COBBLESTONECASTLECOMBOINAHOTEL*cough*)
